As Sidian took her morning walk in the forest nearby, she heard constant growling and a screech in pain. It suddenly stopped some time later. Sidian trotted closer to where the sound was coming from. When she peered out from behind a tree, there was Torin and a group of other lynxes. They were laughing but also panting furiously. There was a lynx on the ground, groaning and quietly saying "Please... Leave me be..." The group of lynxes walked around the beaten lynx and taking turns whacking his side with their sharp claws. Sidian couldn't believe what she was seeing. Why would Torin do this? He is nice... Isn't he? Sidian thought. Torin laughed. Sidian had to strain to listen, but she heard this: "Let this lynx," Torin spat. "Be a sign that you should stay loyal to me. You don't want to end up like this." Torin pointed to the beaten lynx with his tail. The group of lynxes started to walk back to the camp site. When they were gone, Sidian slowly trotted over to the beaten lynx. To her surprise, it was a fellow elder. He coughed. "Please..." he coughed. "No more..." he panted furiously. He groaned. "I'm not here to hurt you." Sidian ran her large paw over his ear. His breaths slowed. "Who are you?" he sniffled. "I remember that scent from somewhere." he gasped for air and shriveled up, but then going back to his original position. "This is Sidian." she closed her eyes. The male sighed and coughed wildly. Sidian put her paw on his side. "I can get the healer if you need." Sidian licked a cut on his paw. "Yes, please. Thank you, Sidian." he groaned. Sidian nodded and trotted as fast as she can, and made it into camp. Her paw stung. She had to slow down, or she too, would be badly hurt. Once she got there her paw and felt like it had been broken again. She limped to the healer but tripped on a rock. This was the first time she had felt badly about a rock. She clenched her teeth and slowly picked herself up. She finally made it to the healer's den, but they weren't there. She slowly walked back to the fellow elder, but it was too late for any healer to save him. He was barely breathing. Sidian felt her eyes tearing up. "I'm sorry, Sanke." she silently cried.
