Whillis

The young buck stepped out if the bushes, head high and steps loud as to alert the others to his presence and trotted up to his alpha beside the stream, feigning confidence although the other buck still made him nervous and passing a quick greeting to Daphne, "Bayard?" He requested gently, almost snorting at the water running down the other buck 's beard. "Might I have a word?"

A small smile painted Bayard's face. "I'm well. It's a tad bit cold though." He mused, shivering. "How are you?Haven't seen you much lately." Before she could answer he saw Whillis approach. "Of course; what is it?"

"Afraid so, my dear". Pippin said, dipping his head in greeting to the female. "We've heard 'em, and might've seen them. I just hope they decide to leave the territory; I don't much fancy a fight with a pack of dogs."

"Yes, I can take care of myself!" She echoed, proudly puffing out her chest. She gave a small bounce and nodded. "Okay! I think they're talking about dogs. I don't like dogs; they scare me." She said, shivering at the thought of all their sharp teeth.

Whillis

Whillis nodded to Daphne politely, leading Bayard away from the stream to a quieter section of grass before taking a deep breath, "Dogs alpha, strays I think but there been coming closer these past few days." He glanced around to ensure none of the others had heard, not wanting to spook the herd.

Reginald - Open

Reginald kept watch while the others chatted. The meadow may be peaceful for now, but that could change in a heartbeat.

Philomena

With the young goat following her out further into the meadow, Philomena leaned down to nibble on the grass. "Well, dogs can be really scary", she agreed, gazing at the kid fondly. Her eyes then trailed over to see Beyard and Whillis conversing privately. "What do you think those two are talking about?"

She trotted around the border. She lowered her head to look at the ground. She snorted "dogs", at the sight of the paw print. She looked around. She perked her ears up at a far away howl. She trotted back to camp. She looked around for the alpha but couldn't see him. He she sighs and decides to lie down in the shade.

Basil looked around, her ears drooped. She went to the open fields and started to graze on some grass. She looked up and saw the other goats and watched them moving along. Life was good. She went through the fields and picked a dandelion. She put it up behind her ear as decoration. She trotted around and looked up at Bayard. She trotted along still, Just being a bit bored and walking around.

"Then it's worse than I thought," he murmured, worry flashing in his bright amber eyes. He turned his head to the forest, silently praying. Please, let these mongrels pass. I do not fancy a war; a war in which we will most certainly loose herd members.

"Oh, I dunno." She said, following the older does gaze to the two conversing goats. "But I like Whillis! He's really nice." She giggled, shifting from hoof to hoof.

The young buck hung his head, "I'm afraid it is." He agreed solemnly, "But I'm not sure what we can do to change this, shall I go tell the other guards?" He seemed to pick up on Bayard's thoughts for a second and added a quick, determined, "I don't want a war alpha."

She looked at the dogs. She saw they had their tail lashing side to side. She knew they were either hungry or angry. We didn't do anything so it's bound to be hungry... She went as far away as possible from them.

His hooves grazed the ground in mild frustration. It was evident those mangy, flea-ridden mutts were around here somewhere, but where?

Philomena

"Oh you do, do you?" Philomena smirked mischievously. "Then how about we go say hi?" Their conversation looked pretty serious. Maybe they could lighten the mood a bit. "Come on". She nudged Minka along in case the little goat got cold hooves, which was unlikely. "Hello Beyard, Whillis", Philomena greeted both of them. "I hope we're not interrupting anything important".
