Tornado Valley

2020, the year mans greedy and destructive attitude towards Mother Nature bites them in the butt. Massive storms rip through most of the country, tornadoes, hurricanes, and deadly blizzards ravage the human population. Many pets die along with their owners, but the ones who survived best during the terrible storms were the equines, whose fleet hooves and keen senses allowed them to escape the paths of the worst of the storms.

This is the story of those horses, whose lives once revolved around and depended on humans, traumatized and unknowing, attempting to make their way in the wild.

Rules

1: This is a literate roleplay. That means a minimum of 5 sentences.
2: You must have decent grammar and spelling.
3: You can only have a maximum of 3 characters.
4: All horses are realistic. That means no crazy markings, no wings, no powers.
5: All horses are once domestic, now living in wild herds.
6: If you want to start your own herd you must contact me first, and you must have at least 3 willing RPers, and at least 2 mares and 1 stallion
7: There may only be 1 lead stallion per herd. You must contact me to apply. However, there may be geldings and younger stallions.
8: Any character under 3 years I must give permission to start. It was less likely for the younger horses to survive the disasters.
9: No homosexual characters. Not that I'm against homosexuality, it's just that this is a realistic roleplay and horses don't really stray outside of the opposite sex. Mares can become really close friends though, as can geldings. They just can't fall in love.
10: Members of each pair should be played by different members of the RP, keeps things interesting.
11: Mating can only happen during breeding season, and foaling during foaling season...
12: Follow all CS rules. No onsite breeding. No swearing. No graphic fighting.
13: If you disappear for more than 3 weeks you are temporarily banned.
14: If you want your colt to become lead stallion you must fight the stallion for supremacy. Same goes for the lead mare, however you must consult with me first

This crystal clear body of water is ice cold and fed by mountain springs and runoff.


The Endless Plains



Named for the endless green extending off into the horizon, these plains are dangerous if one doesn't know their way. They make up the most of the valley, except for Crystal Lake


The Spine



The great mountain range that borders the valley, and is made dangerous by Cougars and other predators who inhabit there.

Breed: Rocky Mountain Horse
Personality: Sweet and kind, Zena was the perfect mother. She had a calm sensitive nature about her, and was willing to do anything to please her owners.
History: Born to two champion Rocky mountain show horses, Zena was also paraded in the show ring, winning many prestigious awards and prizes. She was retired young and used as a brood mare, airing two foals before the storms came.
In the spring of 2020 an F5 tornado rammed through her home and town, killing her owners and many residents. Zena had sensed the storm was coming and was able to jump the fence and run to safety.

The skies were a dark, ugly color, the clouds still rolling above her head. The wind was strong, too strong, almost lifting her up off her hooves, threatening to suck her back into the jaws of the storm. She jumped over brush and fence, fear causing her to fly. Careful. A voice whispered in her head, and she slowed just a notch. The wind no longer wanted to take her, instead it gently brushed against her skin, drying the sweat that soaked her. Zena slowed even more, trotting now, her breaths fast and shallow.

That was when she started to give note to her surroundings and the young mare stopped right in her tracks. Death and destruction was everywhere. There were no standing structures, and no living creatures to be seen. The mare shivered, and began the canter through the rubble, trying to escape the sights and sounds surrounding her. How did I escape this death? Her heart beat fast in her chest, and she could no longer stand it, she fought harder to escape from the debris but only found it closing in on her, the piles of it growing larger and towering over her. Soon she was trapped, boxed in when she jumped over a pile of siding only to find too late that it would be difficult for her to get back outl, there was not enough room on the other side for her to jump back out.

Zena began to whinny in fear and desperation, calling out for help. She was hoping that there was maybe a human or two left alive in this place, but the chances of that were unlikely. The pile she had jumped over was too steep for her to climb, and it was a much higher jump on this side than the other, with almost no room for her to gather up any speed. Zena began to tremble again. Im in big trouble no.
