She nodded as Chance spoke so he knew that she was listening, though she soon stopped nodding as he continued. Her heart ached for the large brute, that is an awful way to live. She didn't know humans could be so awful! Forcing him to fight other dogs and keeping him in a cage? It made her life seem even more soft and cushy than it was before, she really had no reason to complain about the kids bothering her now, not after knowing that some dogs had been tortured in such ways. She stood up and stepped forward, pressing her muzzle underneath Chance's jaw. "I'm so sorry that happened to you." she told him, rather enjoying the warmth coming from the brute as the rain was starting to chill her. "At least you're free now though." she said as she stepped back and sat down once more, looking at him with sympathetic cream eyes.

The male watched her behavior closely, this female seemed of no threat to him as of now. As she raised her head slightly, he took a step forward and sniffed her, taking in her scent to soon match her name, once he knew it. Scout listened to her words, ears erect and tail still raised. "Name's Scout. And you are?" he asked her.

The red nosed pitbull walked around the park, listening to the kids play and dogs run around chasing tennis balls. The adults looked at him through weary eyes but the kids acted like he was any other border collie, which he didn't mind. One of the bolder kids ran over to him and began speaking to him and petting his large head gently. He smiled and wagged his tail before sitting down, allowing the young human to continue to talk in his face and tap the point in his ears. He turned his head as he heard it's mother calling to him and he just wagged his tail. He watched the child pout then slowly wander back to his mother where she scowled at him. He shook his head with a small laugh and continued on, eventually turning down an alley. He hadn't walked very far when he saw two other dogs, a male and female. He stopped and eyed them cautiously, knowing some strays could get territorial over scraps they've found. "Hello." he greeted them, figuring that if he took the first approach and seemed friendly enough, they wouldn't feel threatened at all.

"Ugh, people. Just the word annoys me. I used to have humans that cared about me, or I thought they did. They just one day dumped me on the street and ran, and I never saw them again. Oh well, I'm happier without them anyways." Hannah's stomach growled, causing her to go silent "Maybe I should go.." The fae said quietly

Marcus looked up from the half eaten cheeseburger that he had found, and cocked his head. He jumped up quickly and stood in front of his sister, growling at the stranger. This stranger wasn't going to come any where near Miley; he didn't want her to get hurt.

Miley looked up at the newcomer and smiled a little. Then, Marcus jumped in front of her and started growling. Miley stood up, and pushed him out of the way. She walked up to the newcomer slowly, just in case. Miley cocked her head a little, smiled, and said, "Hello, I'm Miley! That growling pitbull over there is my overprotective brother Marcus. Sometimes he can be a little grumpy; sorry about that... Who are you?"

He narrowed his eyes as the male jumped up and growled at him. He saw the female walk out from behind the male and introduce herself and calmed down a little. Eyes no longer narrowed, he gave a friendly smile to the fea. "It's nice to meet you, Miley." he told her then looked back at Marcus, as long as he was still growling, his guard would be up and he knew he had to be careful not to provoke him. "No need to apologize, i understand." he said, looking back to Miley. "I'm Reggie." he introduced himself and dipped his head politely to her.

Chance:
Free. The word startled him. Freedom, freedom meant you could do whatever you want, when you want. Some dogs still didn't get their freedom, and some were pampered. He, he had lived a hard life, but he was free. Free to live, live again. "Ya, I am free."

Miley looked behind her at Marcus who was still growling. Rolling her eyes a little, she turned a little to him and she said, "Marcus, cut it out. Reggie isn't going to hurt anyone, including you or me ok?" She turned back to Reggie, nodded slightly and said, "Nice to meet you! Usually, most strays won't talk to me because they're afraid of Marcus." Miley laughed a little.
