He laughed. "I'm never tired!" he claimed wagging his stubby tail. Whisker scrunched up his face. "Are you Ivy" Playfully he pushed Ivory over and nipped her ear gently.

He frowned as he stared down at Utah, a young maven he had known well sense his very puphood... Now, his paw hung limply across the side of a broken limb, his neck craned against a tree stump, gashes of blood trickling down the side of his head, smashed into the wood. "What is this?" He roared madly, sadness welling up within him as he swung around, staring at Avasa and the other maven's, their heads dipped low in respect. Rilke nearly choked at the thought of misery, his heart wrenching as he backed away. His eyes were suddenly wide, gasping with utter shock when he read the words scrabbled against the tree stump, the bark clawed away.
