"Bye," Darkest said simply, his silver maw creasing into the strangest of expression and his amber eyes as hard as uncapturable as the lake itself. He glanced at Brindle, and simply chuckled at her fierceness, her hatred of him and his apprentices' very existence. Good day to you also, child," the ebony brute said calmly to Stark as she ran off, then Ryder whom had spoken to him. Darkest simply blinked his eyes in acknowledgement, and then turned to Varien as soon as the bloodthirsty pack left. I cannot expect any more than hatred, comments of I should be dead, that I am useless; this is all normal for mortals. I grew up with this, it is simply they're way of saying they wish I didn't exist, and try to push me down and be rid of me.... so sorry to disappoint you, mortals.
"You see Reaper, words. If you ever live to be too old to fight, live to be so old that you can barely walk... simply use the words that Lupus' blessed you with. Ignore the mortals taunts, lift your head high... and take revenge with your mind rather than your claws when the time is right," Darkest said, gazing at Varien with an unusually soft smile over his silver maw. When I was younger, I was one of the fastest... although my speed began fade, my mind opened wide and began to work like no other. Now, once more it has saved my life. And broke it. How am I supposed to share my territory with ones whom still wish to kill me? I see it in their eyes.... we are far from peaceable. They insult I, gaze at me with slobber slithering between their pearl fangs, as they desperately wish it was my blood on their teeth rather than their slobber... ah yes. Jayde has no discipline over them.
It is time for my old, well tuned mind to work. There are plans to be made... for these creatures will strike again. They aren't going to hold there word. But first things first. "Varien, would you be so kind as to escort these children home, and bring home a regular herb pack?" Darkest said with a smile, his lightening midnight tail brushing his apprentice flank. The silver brute simply nodded, much more than what met the eye passing between the two wolves.
Darkest slithered into his bed with a soft sigh, leaning over and licking his bleeding leg. It was much worse than it should've, being wounded many times before, and brittle with age; as the elder gazed at it intensely, he then realized the twin bullet wounds on his injured leg had clearly reopened. I'll live, yet for now I must be silent. With a wan sigh, the ancient creature let his amber eyes slide shut as he knew his apprentice would get the job done. He always did.
Varien calmly stepped out of the den alone, his large, muscular body visibly relaxed as he strode out of the cave, his scarred head high and his long silver pelt billowing around him in the light breeze. The strange wolf cast a strange glance at the whole pack surrounding the alphess trying to help her stand, their voices sympathetic and questioning even after they'd chanted to kill an elder. Mortals, mortals. Jayde has had prey, shelter, and a break from it all; yet her legs collapse, why? Mortals, thy mortals never cease to destroy and be foolish. An elder; it is against thy laws to even curse at an elder, which more than one of these fools did. Ah, do not worry thy Shadows; I will not fail you. Our legacy will not be in vain. One day, a worthy shall come... and our legacy, our bloodline shall continue. Varien sat down and watched the whole pack snuggling in front of his cave, even after threatening to take the last thing he had and saying they'd leave. Shaking his head then closing his single blue eye, the large male let the breeze play with his fur, and his ears do the work. He waited.
Cameria watched her pack disperse, and sighed softly. She lowered her head her creme ears flickering backwards, her fiery eyes gazing at her paws. "How... am I supposed to admit to Jayde--??" She cut off upon smelling Aztech. The small fea smiled slight and trotted towards where she smelled him, giving out a soft bark to let him know it was her. Smelling the badly infected wound, Cameria bit her lip in worry. "Aztech...?" she questioned, wondering if he even wanted her nearby. He'd left from where she'd put him... maybe he didn't want her around. The huntress shifted, even as these thoughts tortured her already fragile mind.
