herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.

Desert Rain
Startled by the nicker Desert moved up slightly whipping lash to turn back towards the mare, but very apologetic."Sorry, You startled me,"He murmured bringing his muzzle up to hers and touching it softly as a form of apology. His ears pinned down, but back up hearing the others (animals, wind, whatnot) around them. "Forgive me, that was not what a lead stallion does,"He added.

Red simply brushed her muzzle against his, "It's fine," The sorrel mare chuckled. She closed her eyes halfway and began to doze, her scented tail swaying slowly in the breeze.

Classic walked up to Killer and laid her muzzle on his shoulder. She peeped through her fetlock towards where he was looking, trying to see the what he was looking at. Just as she was about to give up, the smell of another herd hit her and she backed behind Killer.

Desert Rain
Blinking at Red's sleep state Desert put himself on guard ears perked at all and any sound with his muzzle to the ground grazing along some of the small animals that were there also. They didn't bother him none, and were a good set of extra eyes and ears. His tail swishing behind him with the occasional listening of the chatter smaller animals, but always back to his job of watching his lone mare.

Killer didn't move at all for some time. The silver dapple just stared out to where the other herd was, ears pricked and nostrols flared. He blinked finally and gave a sigh, glancing at his mares before turning his attention back to the other distant herd.

Red's skin twitched ever now and then, and every so often she'd let out ann almost silent nicker, showing she was dreaming. In her "dream-scape" a small foal danced through her legs, Desert had aquired a few more mares and they too had mares. She let out a soft sigh.

Classic nibbled at the grass absent mindedly. Is it time to move the herd farther? I think I will move us on.
She walks to the water and takes a final sip before saying, "I think we've had our fill of water. It is time to move to grazing land. Follow me."

~The Phantom~

I rolled my eyes. 'If she wants to become lead mare, she's going to have to fight for it, since it is my destiny!' I thought to myself, trotting ahead of her and turned to her. "We better not be moving far, I'd prefer if we stay in the marshes, it's where I belong."

Desert Rain
Quick sniff in the wind Desert lifted his head up staring back at clear water with small intent of doing something. He actually wanted to back to the lake that laid couple minutes to an hour away to enjoy the fresh water plants that grew there. They sounded taste at the moment but, he felt no need of urgently tog o there so, he stayed where he was laying down and enjoying the sun and watching the other herd.
