Orion mumbled, "uh..." He became silent, finding it awkward to express what he wanted to say "I can't express it," he admitted, flicking his ears back. "Nor explain it," he said, backing up so that he had a better view and so that he could try and block an attack.

Aspen

"Mmm, one of those things. I suppose that happens often?" She said in a lightly mocking tone, smiling slightly with a teasing glint in her eyes. She watched his ears flick back and take steps back. She liked the view that she had from above; he didn't look as large as he was, nor did the stream they were at minutes ago. She took her gaze from Orion for a moment to look past him; through the trees that intermingled through the forest. As she brought her gaze back, she took a leap towards him, aiming for his back; where she landed, she wouldn't know until she was there.

Orion growled lightly at himself. "Not always," he admitted. Orion didn't realise that by backing up he had completely exposed himself to an attack from above. Watching her look off into the distance, he followed her gaze. Unexpectedly, he felt her land on his flank. Spinning around, he attempted to dislodge her footing. "That was unexpected, nice move" he said surprised, stopping his spinning.

Aspen

Noting that she had hit fur, Aspen let her claws protrude slightly, not far enough to draw blood, but could have been rougher had she not reminded herself it was only a game. Being a loner for the last year, it was an instinct to dig into anything with fur, feathers or scales; it meant food, and if she were to join a pack in this forest, she'd need to retrain her instincts. She let go a moment after Orion had finished spinning; dizzy, and sat on the ground. "It's a nice view from up there." She said.

Orion flinched slightly, as her claws dug into his fur. "Is that so?" He asked, shaking his fur off slowly. "Have you ever considered joining a pack?" He asked, not hoping to sound pushy. His amber-tinted eyes held a firm gaze on Aspen, as she regained balance and a clear view. His ash pelt stood on end, as a breeze blew down stream.

Aspen

The fae gave a slight shrug at his words. "I wasn't ever really given a choice to join. Im spotted on someone's land, and sent away because i cant, or rather wont always, submit when im supposed to." She said plainly, letting her shoulder roll once more. Once she had been allowed to join a pack, and it ended not to long later when she was forced to leave for disobeying. "Its not one of my best qualities; listening when im 'supposed to'." She then rolled her eyes lightly, and turned to look at the river where it had all started.

Orion tutted, "rebellious then?" He chuckled, his tail thumping behind him softly. "I didn't send you away," he said, looking at the ground. "Guess I'm not much of an alpha then," he said slowly, lowering his head. "I should be tending to my pack, instead I'm talking to someone I should be chasing off," he said, a frown spreading across his face. "Its doing no one good sitting here feeling sorry for myself though," he admitted, shrugging his shoulders. "You could always come back to camp with me?" He suggested, accompanied by a little glance around.

Looking around when no one responded to her howl, she shrugged, sighing. Piper picked up the dead cow elk by it's neck and began to drag it back to camp, careful to steer clear from the border. She made it to camp a few hours later, huffing, and set the elk down. She flopped onto her belly once in her den, sighing.

Aspen

She gave a light roll of her pale blue eyes until returning them to him as he lowered his head. "A good alpha doesn't just turn high maintenance wolves away, they take a chance to get to know them before sending them away." She said quietly. "I suppose i could."

Orion smiled, relief washed over him. "Its this way," he said, ushering her through the thicket. He lead in front, his tail relaxed behind him and his ears perked forward. Walking briskly, he vaulted over a fallen tree, kicking up the bracken and fallen leaves behind him. "Just here," he said, walking up a steep hill. Stopping at the top, he looked around the blanketed forest, which was paw deep with russet leaves. Taking in the breeze, he ran down the hill, throwing his head back in a childish manor. He slowed to a plod at the bottom of the hill, where the ground was hard and flat and scattered with rocks. He walked a few more paces forward, before halting. "Here we are," he smiled, observing the camp dens. The dens were tree dens, holes in the bottom of tree roots. "We're more like rabbits then wolves," he chuckled.
