Koda growled, starting to push the team forwards, ears flat against his head. He needed to get through this. His team needed him.

Fleck nodded sheepishly when Tessa comforted her, raising her head and waiting for the dogs in front of her to move forwards so she could move. Suddenly, the ice cracked beneath her and her hind legs crashed in the water, numbing them immediately. "Help!" She yelped, blue eyes wide and her paws clinging to the ice, trying her best to not let go.

Rome
He didn't realize Jett broke free at first. But when he did, he needed the dogs help. "Jett, you're lighter than this whole team, can you spot us? Be careful, lay on your stomach if you need to. That distributes weight better. Just patrol the ice and tell us if anyone us in danger of it cracking under them, if you can." Rome is relived Jett is free, but without a wheel dog they will have to be very careful about how they balance the team. Hopefully they can all remove the harnesses when on land. Suddenly he hears Tessa yell, and a strong pull.

Tess
I hear Azelea whine. She's in the row behind my so I look behind and wiggle my tail a little hoping to cheer her up. I can't reach her but I hope that helps. As I turn back I catch Bears glance. He doesn't look good. I give him a look, trying to imply the message that things will get better soon. But I can't do much more because I feel Fleck trip. Her leg has fallen through the ice, and if we don't act fast, so will the rest of her. "Pull right!" I tell as I use all my strength to do so. The harness cuts into me but I slam as much of my weight as possible to the other side in hopes that some of the tension from pulling will allow her to regain her leg from the ice

Bear

Bear looked behind him at Fleck- she was slanted on the ice… he wondered for a moment why was she slanted… he then looked down and saw her legs had crashed through into the freezing cold water. He had a vision, like a flashback but it wasn't real… that David was standing there, on the ice smiling and talking to the team like he always would. The ice broke under him, "No!!!" Bear screamed, as David fell through into the freezing cold water. Bear leaped after him and jumped into the water, only to see the darkness and feel the loneliness and sadness under water. Bear snapped out of his vision, the pained and horrified look appearing on his face, he realizes now it wasn't real but the feelings he felt in it sure were. He saw Fleck hanging on in trouble, she yelled "help" and he leaped at Fleck, panicking to save her, wrapping his long jaw around her whole top part to the sides of her neck. He yanked her out with his unusual strength pulling her completely out of the water and dragged her a few feet on the ice to get her away enough from it. He let go of her and put his head on her shoulders, huffing to catch his breath. He realized that he can't keep up the slow, emotional, painful sadness that makes him move slow and not be able to function. He needed to push it down and live like he always did, though still feeling this pain. His pack needed him now more than ever, and he needed them. He vowed to himself and David to take care of them.

Rome
I stop the team when Fleck falls. Luckily Bear pulled her out. We're so close to land, hopefully we can get across without someone else falling in. I wait for Bear and Fleck to catch their breath. I'm going to have to call it a day for us when we get onto land, our team is nearly at breaking point. Pushing them even harder would only make things worse. I know Koda wants to keep going but I think for the better of our team, we need a break. The sun is beginning to set anyway. Didn't Jett say something about a cave? We would be warmer and dryer there. Now that we have two dogs free, that should help us get off the ice then get the rest of us free. "Okay, it's alright. Everyone take a deep breath, we'll be fine. Thank you Bear ad Tess for helping her. Fleck, are you ok? You're not injured are you?"

Tessa
I pant a little. I'm glad Bear was able to drag her out because I'm not sure I would've been strong enough. I try to speak but I'm shaking too badly. I hope they're ok. We all look pretty distressed. I take a step to the side to give Fleck some room, but my harness must've cute deeper than I thought. My underarms feel raw, I'm sure that will leave a bruise. I whimper out of surprise of the pain. It doesn't hurt too terribly, but it's surely not comfortable. Since Fleck is the dog next to me, I reach my head over and give her and Bear a lick on the ears since Bear is over here as well.

Jett kept walking on the thin ice until it cracked. He looked under himself and kept going u too he spotted the cave again. He went over to it and went into it and looked around. "Theirs a cave
Over here! Looks safe too!" He yelled to them all.

[derision]

Fleck didn't reply, shivering with cold as she stared at her feet. Her tail glued between her legs, and her ears pinned to her head. She didn't try and shrug off Bear's head, it did her no harm anyway.

Koda stopped to look at Fleck and Bear, gaze hardening as he remembered when his former mate died from a car. Growling again, he said, "We have to go, or else we will all freeze to death!"

Rome
It was true, we did need to keep going, we can't rush but we do need to carry on. Ignoring Koda's dramatic statement he says, "We do need to keep moving, this is true. We just need to make it to that cave Jett found, then we can stay there the night. I think we should call it a day once we get there. Tell me if you need help getting there Fleck." Carefully he selects the best route back to the land. Once he reaches it, he waited for the others behind him to get there too, which doesn't take too long, since most of them are still attached to the sled also.

Tessa
She follows everyone making sure to watch her step. She's limping a little because of her cuts, but once the harness comes off, it will feel a lot better. Once her feet touch solid ground, she releases a sigh of relief. They should be safe, for now.

Simiko felt her harness was attached and hen I toke free. She shook her pelt and looked back and hen went back up front into the cave she looked around, it was in and warm. "It nice and warm" she said and poked her head out of the cave.

Jett yawned s he heard the horn once more before going into the cave and checking g it out. "It's pretty safe" he's aid coming out and helping anyone in need.

Koda yawned, walking towards the cave and glaring at Jett and Simiko. He clearly didn't like that they were out of their harness. When he stepped into the cave, he was unsure how to feel. "Alright guys, we should probably keep our harness so people know we aren't wild dogs. For now."

Fleck limped, eyes on her feet as she winced, sore pads touching the cave surface. She missed David's cabin dearly, with the fire to lay next to. "I'm fine." She mumbled, lying.

Jett still had his harness on, he just broke free from the harness thing, he never understood what it was. He looked at fleck and let Koda go in.

Simiko had hers on. "It looks like it's gonna storm" she said looking up as the snow came down harder. Pshe sighed looking around.
