Koda glanced at Fern warily. His gaze drifted to the soft shaded grass under a tree. Slowly he sauntered over there and lay down, yawning as he closed his eyes to sleep. Sleep wouldn't come to him so he sat up, comfortable in his shady spot. Fern was resting and he was bored so he got up and went to the stream. Slowly he let the water wash over his dusty fur and he sighed, this was what living felt like.

The tigress narrowed her eyes, thinking she heard something. Flicking her ears to listen, she heard nothing, and shook her head. It couldn't be anything. "Koda, I'm going to go hunt," she said, excusing herself as she padded out of the camp. The she-cat padded out into the plants to hunt, blinking away drowsiness. Her striped pelt, surprisingly, was decent camouflage in the tall yellow grass. Her sun-orange gaze studied every plant. She saw nothing--
Aquam Fern took in a deep breath, eyes widening. Was it...? It couldn't be! The scent of a tiger?
[Just tell me if she's not supposed to find Mali soon yet]

I would like Koda to find him first, then fern soon after perhaps.))

Koda's saliva ran out of his mouth. His mouth snapped shut, making the drool seize. A low growl rumbled through his throat. He found a small muddy puddle, that he soon found himself lapping water out of. His eyes were still scanning the ground around him, the sun dancing off his golden back.

Fern didn't investigate; just ran back to Koda. "Have you scented a tiger nearby?" she asked, claws unsheathing nervously. She sniffed the air, but Mali's scent was gone.

"You know, I think I might have scented a tiger yesterday. But it shouldn't be anything to worry about" He told Fern. There was doubt in his eyes but it was almost unnoticeable. Could it be the tiger he thought it was or was he just paranoid.

Mali looked up slightly, his thirst quenched. He caught a glimpse of a small aardvark, digging slowly in the sand for termites. Without a sound, he bounded onto the helpless unsuspecting creature. He ripped it apart quickly, swallowing the stringy meat. Blood dripped off his muzzle.

Fern wanted to curl up beside him like a cub and be protected, but she flattened her fur and nodded meekly. "Right," she stammered weakly.

"there is nothing to worry about Fern. No tiger would DARE mess with my pride. And if they did I would send them running back to were they came from." He said haughtily. He puffed out his chest and stuck up his fur making himself look twice his size.
