I turn round as the buckskin mare bolts. I take a step back from Clyde, but no more.

I think about what Aroura said, and graze by her side. I look u to see another stallion announcing itself, and flick my tail nervously.

Sven raised her head and kept her ears perked. she let out a loud neigh, tossing her head and half-rearing multiple times. she took a chance and loped back toward Lightning, her neck arched. the whites of her eyes showed, clear against the deep blue of them. once she had her throat by Lightning's hip, she touched his belly with her muzzle. her ears were back, but not pinned. she would choose Lightning, if they were to fight.
