Juliette looked over at Shadow, whom was still staring in her direction. She start3d feeling very oddly, and uncomftorbal around him. I sure don't plan to talk to him... She thought as she started backing up, her flanks going heavily. Her paw barley touched the ground as her fur blew gently in the breeze. She ended up completely missing Lighthouses reassuring glance. Her small body structure made the wind feel ten times cooler. She blinked carefully as she looked down at her paw with a missing toe then back up at the brutes. She saw the pup once more who seemed to be eyeing her up.

Lighthouse felt Juliette move behind him. Lowering his ears, he uttered one last warning to the two brutes before turning
his attention back to the fae. "Hey," he said gently, trying to calm the fae down, "Don't worry, you're alright." Smiling as
softly as he could manage, Light wagged his tail slowly. Despite all of his instincts telling him not to leave the "fight" with
the other brutes, Lighthouse turned all his attention towards Juliette.

Juliette's eyes blinked carefully at the other two brutes there, backing up some more before turning around and leaping back up to the rock. She lay there in disbelief of the male when he says that she was fine. Trust me, Light. I am the farthest thing from fine. She thought miserably of herself as the painful thoughts of her mother swept through her mind. Once she saw the brutes leave she turned back to Lighthouse. "What was it that you asked earlier?" She asked haistily. This brute was odd, she somehow found a liking to him. She rest her small bodily structure back on the rock as she looks daway from the brute and over the river. The reflection of the crystal water in her eyes.

Lighthouse followed Juliette back onto the rock, his nails clicking against the stone as he climbed back to his original spot.
Making sure he was a sizable distance away from Juliette, the brute circled the stone. Once. Twice. Three times before he
finally settled against the stones cool surface. Tucking his tail protectively against himself, his ears twitched as he listened
to Juliette's question. Frowning, Lighthouse lifted his nose to the air, trying to recall what exactly he had been asking the
fae. "Uh..." he trailed, lowering his ears in embarrassment, "Oh! I asked where you're from." The wolf, seemingly proud of
being able to remember such a simple thing, beamed at Juliette and thumped his tail once. Nodding to himself, he focused
on Juliette once more and settled in to listen to her tail. Glancing down at the fae's paws, Lighthouse noted that she was
missed a toe. Twitching his nose, he filed that tidbit of information away, planning to ask about it another time. He didn't
want to push the fae too far, as he found it fairly miraculous that she had opened up to him as much as she already had.
Resting his head against his paws, Light cleared his mind and prepared to listen to whatever Juliette would tell him.

Lighthouse blinked a few times, his ears lowered against his skull. He was at a loss for what to say. Dragging his paw
back and fourth against the stone, the wolf frowned. "Wow," he breathed after a few moments. Lighthouse felt awkward,
fragile. Weak. Like if he moved, this delicate balance that was slowly slipping into place would break. He looked around
his packs territory before his eyes finally settled back on Juliette. Inhaling slowly, Lighthouse prepared to speak. "Alright.
You're probably not going to like this, but I'm going to tell you how it is. You are not your past, Juliette. You are strong.
You are a fighter. You can rise above... that..." he didn't know what to call her mother. A few choice words flooded his
mind, but he shoved them aside and went for what seemed the least offensive. That. "They... They can't hurt you anymore.
They're gone, and they don't matter." Lighthouse frowned, feeling he may have overstepped. With his paw still rubbing
against the rough stone below him, the brute tucked his tail in close to himself and avoided looking at the fae in front of
him.

Juliette breathed in heavily, swallowing hard. It wasn't over though, her father somehow lived on. She looked carefully at the brute as she put her paw onto of his stopping his paw in its circular motion. Her eyes glanced around before she spoke, taking in a deep breath realizing what she had all just told him. "Though its not over. The brutes that attacked me a few days ago... One looked identical to my father. The missing ear, destroyed leg, and eye scar. I... I think he is alive... I think he followed me hear. And Lighthouse, I am not strong. I was the weakest of over fifteen pups born to an alpha pair. I can't hunt and I can't fight. And honestly, they can still hurt me... They still are to this day. There is a reason I am terrified of wolves, Light. There is a reason I run and hide from packs. There is a reason I don't like to get close to others." She said, her gaze still fully on the water. She thought of how many scars must be under her pelt, that glowing white pelt must have had hundreds of beating red scars. She peered off the rock carefully, looking at her reflection. She chose her next words harshly as she stared at her reflection. "I am nothing more than a mutt, one that was meant to die in that two leg attack. One that is clearly still meant to die today." Her ears flickered back and forth as she spoke, in almost silence. She knew how awkward and terrified the brute must have been.

Lighthouse lowered his head, watching the fae carefully as she spoke. "If you were meant to die," he said sternly, "You
would already be dead." Lighthouse raised his ears high. "You survived... All of that. All of it. And sure, you might be a
touch skittish. You might fear and even hate other wolves... But you're here, Juliette. You're alive and you're breathing
and they can't... They won't... Take that away from you. You're here in Evertree and, weak as we might be, we're a pack
and we will protect you. If that was your father... So what. We're here. We won't leave you alone, if that's what it takes.
We're not going to let anything happen to you." Lighthouse huffed, out of breath from his tyraid. He belly crawled closer
to Juliette, nudging her in the cheek with his wet nose, trying to pry her eyes away from the water. "You don't know how
to hunt?" he asked suddenly, lifting his head as if the words were just dawning on him. Thinking for a moment, the brute
shrugged. "I bet I could teach you," he said proudly, offering the fae a small, teasing smile in hopes of lightening the
mood. "And I won't take no for an answer!" he barked, leaping up and hopping off the rock. He padded a few feet away
before looking back and Juliette. "Well, come on then!"

Juliette turned away from the river, her amber eyes suddenly settling on the brute. That would have been a perfect moment... If I had been a different fea. She thought to herself. She got up slowly, leaping off the rock with such grace it was unexpected that she had never been trained in anything. She figured that her grace must have come from having been an alphas daughter. She simply stood there before the brute and gazedd at him, dead in the eye. "No." She said teasingly, a slit of a smile forming upon her pink lips. Pretending to walk off, she turned from the brute, padding slowly as her tail swayed across her legs.
