Zoe heard the footsteps coming closer and closer. She froze as if a truck were just about to impact her with all it weight into the exact place that she was standing. She closed her eyes waiting a few seconds, as if she had super powers that would make the whole world pause just for her. She then peeped one eye open to see if anything have moved or happened. Nothing. She then slowly open the other eyelid just waiting for something to pop out of the river and snap it's mouth into her throat. Nothing moved, once again. She finally felt all the cold chills in her back leave and Zoe's body finally relaxed, at last. Zoe took a deep but silent breath. She then began walking along the bank of the refreshing calm river water. She knew that she was walking closer and closer to the place where she heard the footsteps, and she knew that she was walking into the wolf pack's territory, so her calm body now became even more anxious and nervous at every footstep she took.
