Denali walked up to Thunder. "Anything new?" she asked, noticing his careful watch.

Thunder shook his head. "No, but it is spring, and other stallions are eager to form a herd. I don't want to take chances."

Denali nodded, understanding his fears. "For what it's worth, I didn't hear or see any stallions except you when I was by myself." She nuzzled his shoulder and then walked over to stand next to Maple.

Thunder smiled, and nodded. He relaxed slightly, but was still alert. He glanced at Maple quietly. If she was covered, he wouldn't have nearly as much to worry about.

Maple grazed quietly before looking up and glancing around.

Thunder walked to Maple and nuzzled her neck, kindly.
