Janet woke up to the sun peaking over the horizon. The gray she wolf stretched out and got to her paws. It was still fall -- with the nice mixture of warm and cold, but the onset of winter was in the horizon. Hunger gnawed at her stomach, she decided that once all the wolves woke up she would lead them to go on a elk hunt...

Chance glanced ruefully at the other Luna Pack wolves. He was the first up -- and he was angry, well -- not more angry than usual. For he had learned to curb his temper. He had found himself at the bottom of the pack soon after he joined as a pup, despite all his leading material. He shook himself and glanced towards the forest -- I guess I will just go hunt.
