Dallas walked him to a place on the other side of the barn, where there were mats and hoses to bathe horses. He lead him in between 2 wooden fences and tied him up.

I get a bit spooked and freeze

"Easy boy, these are the wash stalls.." Dallas said softly, unwrapping a hose.

I rear, seeing the "snake" this was scarier than I though I'd be

Dallas looked at King. It looked like this horse had never had a bath. "Boy, it's a hose." He said, turning the water spout handle.

I calm down and lower my head, feeling silly

Dallas pointed the hose at his legs so he could get used to the water. It wasn't cold or hot, just a mixture.

The feel of running water startles me, but I soon get used to it

Dallas slowly moved the water up to his back to rinse him off.
