Mountain nuzzled her flank, and covered her. *Fade out* Mountain walked up beside the mare, and rubbed his head gently on her neck. He whinnied softly, and began to look for more mares. He neighed out into the valley, and waited patiently for a reply.

oak saw the stallion coming for her and she stayed where she was, calmly continuing to munch on the grass. she was a cunning one; someone that knew how to get out of situations like this. she could tell by his stance that he wasn't happy, and by his scent that he already had a few mares - he was greedy and grumpy. oak hid a frown on her face as she waited for him to arrive.

mouse shied away even further, wide eyes desperately searching for an escape. there was nowhere to go. the place was lined with thick trees. and he would surely catch her before she had the chance to run. in an attempt to seem scary, mouse squealed, striking the air in front of her with a dainty hoof. she had had a bad experience with stallions in the past, and had begun to think that every stallion was cruel and harsh.

red looked at ridley as he looked at her. as she had his attention, the mare cantered around the arabian and nipped his rump, as a sign to start moving. she remembered the lead mare in her previous herd, who was always quick to get the herd moving without question. red skies nudged zaria as she went along, moving away from them at a gentle trot and expecting them to follow behind her.

lucky charm grazed for a while, then lifted his delicate head to nip royal gently. the sun was bearing down on his golden back, and was probably bothering the other mares as well. and royal, being the herd leader, was in charge of moving them around. charm lipped her sweetly and went back to grazing. if she didn't want to move, then they wouldn't. he would simply wait for a reply.

haunt made his way closer to the mare, she seemed to be unafraid and relaxed, surprising. the paint wasn't stupid, he figured that the flaxen mare wasn't pleased to see him, just putting on a fake show. this older male was too smart to be fooled by a five year old. haunt walked to her side, taking in her scent from there, then nipping her back, claiming her. she wasn't going to get away, the paint knew he could get her back, being very experienced. he nosed her flank, asking to cover. there was no harm in that, right? he still had wildfire to cover so, he could wait, it just wasn't on his agenda. his black and white tail flicked unhappily behind him, hitting some annoying flies on his hind legs.

oak was shocked at the stallion's curt claiming. usually stallions would at least court or snake until the mare gave in. but this stallion marched right on up and called her his. but what baffled he even more was as soon as he had done this, the stallion asked to cover her. oak was sick of him at that point. she flattened her ears and kicked at him before he had the chance to do anything more. the flaxen mare picked herself into a trot, circling his herd.

a gentle breeze tugged at ghost's long mane and tail, making them fly like banners. his dark eyes stared into nothing as he stood, completely motionless. not even the presence of the pesky flies sitting on his rump startled his position. finally, he moved, taking off down the slope he had been standing on. the sound of his hooves pounding on the grass drummed in his flattened ears as he galloped, with no intention to stop.

Wildfire watched Haunt go up and claim the mare. Flicking her tail to tease haunt, she nickered softly. Her ears swiveling back and forth as she watched Oak kick at the stallion. She started to graze again, still watching Haunt and this new mare.
