Autumn felt briefly threatened when Tusk started sizing her up and pinned her ears fearfully, though she soon loosened and realized he wasn't being aggressive. She shivered and looked back toward the camp, "you don't mind if I hang around here for a while? I'm trying to stay out of the way... unless i'm disturbing you then I'll go elsewhere" she licked her muzzle and looked back at the other dog.

Grace was listening to Midnight's words as she stopped to turn to look at him while he finished his words. She bowed her head in understanding then looked to Demi. "Let's head out." She said, walking into the trees. Being Beta, I would hunt and patrol, so while I was on the look out for other dogs, I was also on the hunt for prey.

The hunting dog nodded, "Of course. You of all dogs should know that I love to train." He said, his tail taking off in a quick wag.

"Aye' You're fine." He said, turning his head to the side, looking out to the foresty surroundings. He sat down and loosened up a bit, still trying to keep his cool. Tusk's ears still faced Autumn, twitching.

Athena

Athena laughed softly, "yep, I guess I should. I'm fairly excited about training today, too. Training to be a patroller is so wonderful; you get to train on how to beat other dogs in battle, and to defend the pack from lone dogs or other larger, more powerful enemies. I always wondered, though, how it would be like to train as a hunter apprentice." She looked at him with her dark, mystifying eyes, wondering why he wanted to train to be a hunter. However, his name was 'hunter', so he must like chasing prey through the forest and such. Fighting was best skill for Athena; her large size and powerful bite force, plus her calm yet fierce personality, suited her quite well for the job.

Midnight nodded and followed Grace with Demi behind him. Him and Demi would break off and patrol the East Border while she did the smaller North Border. He glanced back to make sure Demi was still following him, the continued on.

"Juniper does grow over here, the plants are just smaller and a bit shriveled. The ones across the lake have water by them all year, so in the summer they don't dry up. Their berries just seem to be of a better quality." She said quietly. "We always need to get the freshest herbs and berries. The shriveled ones would be bad in a few days. The fresh would last a few weeks."

The large dog padded from her den beneath a tree, mouth open in a yawn. Her large fangs glistened in the morning sunlight. She licked her lips then began to look for some food.

Pistachio wagged his tail. " Sure! " he agreed. He trotted to the edge of the camp and looked back at Zeus.

The young hound tilted her head as she listened, taking in what her mentor said about how the juniper berries and making note of it. "Oooh, okay." She replied simply, excitement to head out to the other side of the lake keeping the Indian dog from babbling on about the berries. Her eyes gazed up in admiration and respect at Snow, waiting to see if they would be leaving now or waiting a bit.

Demi

She trotted along, following Midnight and Grace. She nodded at the Alpha's words. She sighed to relieve the anxiety bolted up inside her. I should be more focused on patrolling. These little things don't matter. Soon enough, I will break away from Grace and head North east. After that very thought, she had narrowed her thoughts to patrolling.

Grace had no doubts in her "apprentice" though, knowing what you have to go through to become a successful Beta, she was a bit nervous how Demi would react to the pressure. The black dog turned to Demi, gave her a reassuring smile then broke off from the group to patrol the North border. Her ears were perked tall and her nose running at a million miles a minute. She was on high alert for any movement.

Hunter listened closely to the patroller apprentice's words. He always wondered what it was like to be a patroller. He had always admired the large, strong dogs that were patrollers but he always wanted to be a hunter. Keeping the pack fed well was something he enjoyed. "I think everyone thinks that occasionally." He says, smiling to the other apprentice.
