Sahala turned as she heard her king's voice. "Nothing you should be worried about." She replied, brushing past him and swatting his side with her tail. "Come on. I'm not getting food on my own." The lioness padded away, casting sideways glances at where she had met the other lion. Shaking her head, she tried to clear her mind of these thoughts and let her paws carry her onwards through their territory. Hopefully they could find food soon and eat well before the pride got too crowded.

Tau gave his queen a questioning look, but otherwise didn't try to argue with her about it. He simply nodded, turning to pad back to their territory. "I hoping to find more lionesses so our pride would grow and gathering food would become much easier." He spoke, mostly talking to himself, but he decided to in form Sahala as well. Catching up to the queen, he rubbed his head against her head. "Lets go hunting. I saw a herd of zebras not too far from our territory." He spoke, padding forward toward the plains. Lifting his head, he scented the air for the herd and any lionesses wandering.

As soon as she caught scent of the wildebeests, Bast lowered herself onto her stomach. Slowly, she moved forward through the long grass in the direction of the herd. Her ears laid back, glancing out of the corner of her eye at the king. Once they were close, she stopped moving and waited for Luka to give her to cue to move and attack one of them. She set her gaze on a wildebeest that wasn't too close to the rest of the herd. Her tail flicked, wondering if Luka had noticed the one she had picked out.

I look over to Bast and followed her gaze. I spotted the exact same one she had. I look to her and nod once, I crept forward, on the far left side of the wildebeest. I lunge forward, roaring a bit, I watch as the heard scatters, and the wildebeest we was after began to flee. I call to Bast to leap forward and cut it off at the throat. I lunge, sinking my front claws into its rear hips, biting down as I drop my weight, making its rear drop down as it ran, slowing its pace.

Given the cue, Bast emerged from the tall grass and lunged at the wildebeest. She was easily able to catch up with it due to Luka holding it down by its' hips. Springing herself forward, she clamped her jaws around the prey's neck. She sunk her claws into the wildebeest's back as she bit down on its' neck. She dangled at the animal's neck, waiting for her bite to kill it. She felt the animal slowly beginning to fall due to the neck artery she had punctured with her sharp teeth. The wildebeest gave a distressed call, but the herd was too scared to help their friend out. Eventually, the animal collapsed onto the ground.

Sahala let the lion brush up against her. The gesture was comforting, but she didn't bother to get closer. The lioness listened while walking as her king spoke. "Hello captain obvious, did you not hear what I just said?" She let out a slight chuckle as they padded along. Sahala watched as Tau scented the air and guessed that she should probably be doing the same. She lifted her nose and let it twitch, only catching trails of distant wildebeest. She glance over to where the scent headed and realised that it was coming from the other male's territory. The prey tempted her even more, yet the young lioness knew that right now she had to stay here.

Tau's ear twitched hearing Sahala's quiet chuckle. The king rolled his eyes in good nature before he padded forward. He had caught scent of wildebeests and zebras, but the wildebeests were not on his turf. Glancing at his queen, he noticed that she was gazing over at the other lion's territory. He flicked his tail, gazing forward as he headed in the direction of the herd of zebras. As he came closer, another scent filled his nose; it was a lone lioness. He paused, searching for the lioness who was near his territory. The herd of zebras could wait. This was his chance to gain another lioness into his pride, and he would take this opportunity.

Sahala's head snapped back to looking forward as she saw how Tau had noticed her eyes straying. She tried her best to focus on the hunt only to roll her eyes as she noticed her king wandering off. A quick scent check confirmed her suspicions of him going after another female. "Didn't think you'd stay with me long." She muttered, looking away. Fine. Who needs him anyway? I could keep myself fed as a nomad and it's no different here. Sahala strutted off with her head and tail proudly swaying in the air. She even paused every so often to check scents like she was reminding others she was actually hunting. She decided to head straight for the herd of Zebra hopeing she could bring something back.

I leap off and detach my claws from the hips. "Great job, Bast." I say and smile at her. I sit a small distance away, guarding the kill, I was going to allow her to eat first, since it was only us two. I looked around and scented the air, and growled once I got a small scent of a male lion, the same smell I had smelt on Sahala earlier. This angered me, but for now I had to protect the only lioness I had with my life. He wasn't going to take her from me.
