Tau stopped rubbing against her when she didn't answer his question. He huffed, pushing himself to his paws. "So I guess I'm not good enough, huh. Tell me.. what can I do to make me good enough, Sahala?" He spoke, his hard gaze on his queen. The king flicked his tail, showing slight agitation. She didn't like being at his side, but he didn't want her to leave him. He would do anything for her to stay with him. "If you think of something then let me know." He added, turning to pad away from Sahala. Suddenly, he noticed a tearful lioness near his border. By the looks of her, she was from Luka's pride. Slowly, he began to approach Lira. He realized that she was the lioness that Sahala had spoken to.

"I'm sorry things aren't going your way. Would you like to talk about it?" Bast questioned in a soft tone, lifting her head to gaze at Luka. She was worried about her king and didn't want him feeling upset. She resumed to grooming his tawny pelt and mane.

I sigh and look at Bast. "That's just it Bast, I don't want it to go my way, I want it to be fair for everyone." I say, looking up at her. "She said she might go off with another male in a few seaons.. who says that to a king!?" I look back up to where Lira had ran off to and saw a glimpse of her fur, and a male lion with her. Angered, I let out a fierce warning roar to him to step away, or be challenged. If he would steal one of my lionesses, I would steal one of his.

I perk my ears as I hear a roar. Worried, I get to my paws and go darting towards Tau and the border marks. I stand by his side and bare my teeth, staying loyal to him. I see Luka at the very bottom of the steep hill and narrow my eyes.

Tau's ears twitched, eyes narrowing as he heard a roar from Luka. He flicked his tail and accepted his warning. But, Luka had messed with one of his lionesses. He growled and sent a roar in return before turning away from Lira. Besides, he wasn't even on Luka's territory; he was still standing on his own. "Lets go, Sarina." He spoke, starting to pad back to the center of his territory. Right now, he had enough of today and didn't want to fight.

"Life can't be fair, Luka." Bast spoke, a frown forming on her muzzle at his next statement. "It wasn't right of her to say such things." She muttered, shaking her head at Lira's slip-up. The lioness should've kept that information to herself. Suddenly, she turned her head to see Tau, Lira, and one of Tau's lionesses. She growled under her breath, eyes narrowing as she watched Tau retreat.

I curl my lip and growl loudly. I was tired of it all. The fact that he approached my lioness was enough to make me tick. And the fact that Sahala didn't tell him the whole truth. She had addressed me on the first day, spoke to me first. And then the second encounter, I was going to run her away from my territory, until she put her head on mine and was talking about joining my pride. I roll my eyes and begin to walk again.

I snarl and follow my king. I frown and walk ahead of him, back to the territory. I lay my head on my paws again and let the warmth of the grass heat my stomach. I sigh and turn my head away from everyone, looking around the territory and up at the warm sky.

Once Tau reached the center of his territory, he laid down and flicked his tail. "This is ridiculous. I'm sick of it." He growled, narrowing his eyes at the tall blades of grass in his view. He was considering moving the pride away that way he wouldn't be so close to Luka's territory. Once he had done that then lionesses wouldn't try to wander over onto the other's territory.

Watching her king stand and begin to walk, Bast remained sitting on the ground. She didn't want to keep following and bothering him with her presence. She decided to go back to the center of Luka's territory and allow Luka to cool off on his own. He wasn't in a good mood, and she didn't want to anger him.

Sahala ducked her head as Tau rushed off. She sighed and rolled over. Everyone was angry and agitated. If they could just settle down and get over the season then life would smooth out. But no. Everyone's always looking for a little drama. The lioness flicked her tail, lifting her head to shoot a glance at where Tau lay. She then turned to gaze into the other territory. Maybe it would be a lot simpler just to leave both the prides and find one elsewhere? She shook her head. No. I have to pick, it's these two males who I like, it's just one that I love and my mind just cant seem to pick that one.

I slowly push myself to my paws and look into the other pride's territory. I walked forward a little to get a better look. I saw Luka sitting, he looked terribly upset. I sigh and flick my tail, laying down and observing. I was hoping no one would get onto me or question what I was doing. I cross my paws and just watch.

Sahala finally decided to get up, she wasn't sure where she was going until she noticed Sarina lying in the grass. Curious, she began to walk towards the other lioness. Upon arriving next to her, Sahala didn't say a word, only flicked an ear as she gazed across at where the other lioness was watching. "Luka?" She murmured, casting a questioning glance down at Sarina.

"Yeah, it hurts me to see him like this, but I guess there's nothing I could ever do." I say, knowing there would be more questions asked about what I just said. Could I really trust this lioness with my secret that was so well kept? It was itching at me to get it out, maybe it would help me relax. I look at her and flick my ear, then look back down to him.
