In the Savannah, there is a pride, this pride is called Treasure Pride. Where each cub is treated like royalty, and each elder is treated with the utmost respect. Don't get me wrong, they aren't snobby or selfish. Treasure Pride is the total opposite. Each member has each other's back. No runt is left to die, no elder is left to starve, and the wounded aren't left to bleed. The Alpha male, Sunburn, has created this pride with caution, and now, the result is fantastic. Everyone has to earn their meal, except for elders and cubs of course, and everyone pitches in to take down larger meals. The Alpha male hunts alongside the lionesses, and everybody does their share in the group. Lionesses not only have eachother's back when hunting, but two or more lionesses stay back from the hunt, and earn their meal for caring for the cubs. Each lioness treats every cub like her own, no matter what danger lies in the way. Subordinates are Treasure Pride's strong point. Unlike most prides, where the adult males set off to find their own pride, the subordinates stay if they like. They are fully grown males, who patrol the borders, and guard the young, and even throw in a couple battle tips to the Juveniles. When a Subordinate finds a mate, the Alpha respects their need for love, and does not mate with them. Usually, the Alpha male mates with every lioness, but in this case, only the single ones. Even if he has his own mate, the Alpha still has to mate with the single lionesses. Juveniles are lions who haven't really grown in their manes yet, like humans just hitting puberty, they don't fit in anywhere besides themselves. Usually, Juveniles are responsible for bringing food to the elders, and helping them to the water hole to bathe. This is the Juvenile's job, but everyone pitches in to make sure the elders are care for and fed. Cubs usually are found near brush, or low hanging trees, where several lionesses guard, or just one Subordinate. Elders are lions and lionesses who have passed their prime, and have retired to telling the Juveniles adventure stories of their youth. Elders are soon to die, and their death is respected, each member of the pride going to give grief when and elder dies, retelling stories they were told as young lions. Treasure Pride is different from all the other prides. They have a complex system, that baffles even the smartest scientist, because here, in Treasure Pride. We are family.
