Masked Ball
Private/Keeps Things to Herself -- Fiery -- Sarcastic
In Heat
For Anyone in particular
Masked Ball was quietly grazing, swishing her tail gently. For some reason, she couldn't help thinking of the events that had come before this very moment; her last foal, the foal that had had to be given away, the foal that was with Dark Angel somewhere - Mask's beloved friend - not aware that, really, her 'mother' was her mother at all. Would Dark have told the foal yet? Mask had no idea, and her fur prickled uncomfortably as she thought this. It had been bothering her for a while, the events of the past, even though she had left the foal's father long behind her. Biting her lip, the female continued to graze, trying to push the memories behind her.
Runs like Clockwork
Follower -- Friendly -- Sweet-Natured -- Fear of stallions
In Heat
For Phantom Menace/Horses.4.Life
The mare wondered through the area, ears pricked, her tail swishing as she went. She had not been in this new region long; only a couple of days at most, and for the moment she hadn't seen any sign of life. Where was everyone? Clocky wasn't too bothered about this, however - not really. Being with other mares meant meeting stallions, something that she did want to avoid as best as she could.
You're going into heat now - there's no escape from stallions now, a little voice said in her head, before Clocky pushed it away. Yes; she was in heat, and she knew she had a better chance of being approached by a stallion while in this state. But that didn't mean that she had to find one, did she? No. She could just keep her head down, and then when her heat was over she could try sneaking her way into a herd and trying to get support that way.
You see, Clocky was in the sad position of needing something that she so desperately feared; a stallion gave her security, comfort and hope for the future with foals, but she was terrified of them, every single one, and although she needed a stallion the actual thought of being with one was almost too scary to contemplate, let alone act out in real life, actually here with an actual stallion. It was like having two conflicting voices in her head; one who urged her to stay as a loner, and the other urging her to get a herd - for every mare knew that she didn't have a chance lasting for a long time without some sort of protection, in this case a stallion and his band. Even the thought of being with another stallion made her pulse race, but she knew, secretly, as every mare knew, that she would have to find one. She just had to hope it was a nice stallion and not like her last band stallion.
Clocky was so busy thinking about this she didn't realise that a stallion was nearby until she laid eyes on him; he was a big stallion (but, then again, Clocky was small so she thought every stallion huge), and was calling for lone mares. How had she managed to walk into his path like that - the one type of horse the mare was trying to avoid?! She glanced around, knowing that she couldn't get away without the stallion realising that she was there, if he hadn't already (that was unlikely, she thought; she was in heat after all). No; she was trapped; she couldn't outrun him, not a strong stallion like that, and she was probably already seen so she couldn't go into some woodland and hide out there. Her ears flew back, and she lowered her head, trying to seem like she wasn't there at all as her heart beat wildly in her chest and her vision swum.
