Maximus
"Uhhh... They look like plants, got it." Maximus says before loping off. Despite his reply, he did hear what she had said and he looks thoroughly for the medicinal herbs. A short while later he finds some, and grasps them in his mouth to carry back to Raven. As Maximus walks back he spots the river. Maximus stops for a while and watches the water move, still except for his fur shifting in the wind. The brute's eyes close and he feels a biting cold as he sees his sister's head slip down below the chopping waves. His paws scrabble on the ice flow as he slips closer, trying to reach her and pull her back to safety. His teeth close on her wet fur but she ends up slipping out of his grasp and sliding under the water. Maximus opens his eyes and and sighs softly before walking forward, heading back to Raven. Maybe there was someone from the pack still alive. Or maybe not. Really, the answer is quite obvious. There is no maybe.

Raven slipped into the river, letting the water take some of her weight. She was in a lazy and slow portion. Anywhere else, she took the risk of being swept off her feet. Letting the water soothe her battered body, Raven's mind began to wander.

The dark-furred pup leapt and tackled the other. Giggling, she then dashed away. The male followed after her, his amber fur fluffed up in surprise. "Catch me if you can!" The female pranced around him. Suddenly, a silver blur crashed into the black pup. "Hey! Get off Rain!" The silver she-pup laughed, rolling onto her feet. "Got you, Raven!" The male came up, already out of breath. "Don't forget about me!" The amber male slid to a stop before them. "Keep up, Ty!" Raven laughed, swiping a small paw at him. Ty growled pitifully, then tackled Raven. "Ooo! Raven and Ty, sittin' in a tree! K-I-S-S-" The silver pup was then dog-piled by two other furry forms. "Hey!" Came a muffled cry.

Suddenly, a howl pierced the air. Raven was the first to stiffen, her ears erect, fur on end. "That's mom." Rain's head popped up next. "What?" Ty only raised a brow. "Your mom just came back from a hunt." Raven shook her head. "No, something's wrong." Rain nodded. "She never sounds like that." Ty stepped forward. "We should go look." Rain and Raven shook their heads. "She'd want us to stay safe." Ty however, didn't listen. He was already headed towards the source of the howl. "Wait!" Rain followed after. "Rain! Ty!" The black pup raced after them. She was met with, would scar her life forever. The scene washed out in blood. She felt it filling her lungs, soaking her fur, making it sticky and warm. She was drowning in blood.

Raven opened her eyes, only met with murky water. Her lungs burned for air. Swimming upwards, she broke the surface and inhaled deeply. The river had carried her downstream. She climbed out of the water and limped back to the shore where she'd originally entered. She shook with fear and exhaustion.

Maximus
Maximus arrives at the bank of the river and spots Raven. He lopes closer, but when he can make out her form in detail he drops the herds and runs forward at full speed. Maximus arrives at her drenched form and noses her, feeling her shake and tremor beside him. "It's okay, I'm here." Maximus reassures Raven as he lays down beside her and curls up around the fae. The brute rests his head on her shoulders and says softly, "Listen. Your family and friends wouldn't want you to turn into a shell of your former self. Your life is a gift, it's precious. Go through it twice as well for them. Try twice as hard for them. Stand back up again twice as many times. Live for them." Maximus encourages, knowing that she had just been plagued by haunted memories. The brute tells her what he tells himself, the words that have gotten him this far. He tells her what he would want, and need, to hear. And hopefully it helps.

The she-wolf was oblivious to Maximus's presence until warmth from his body began to collect in Raven's own fur. His words touched the guilt-ridden pup that still made up who she was. Underneath all those layers, her very core had been still that pup, troubled and forever scarred. Raven could very well always still be that pup, feeling helpless. Weak. But with Maximus, she felt... Strong. "Thank you, Maximus. You've helped me so much in these last few days." He reminded her of Ty. As the sun set, and day turned to dusk, she swore she saw the figures of wolves in the mist. Their shapes would change from a small pup, to graceful adults. One chased the other, their laughs echoing on the gentle breeze. There seemed to be another form as well. From what Raven could tell, it was a she-wolf, but Raven couldn't tell who it was. Maybe Maximus knows her?

Maximus
Maximus gives a wry half-smile. "Good, I try." Maximus says out loud but on the inside he says, "I can talk and find words to say, I fight okay, can sort of hunt, but when it all really matters..."

Maximus noses Raven's shoulder again before standing up and walking over to where he had dropped the herbs on the ground. The brute grasps the plants in his mouth and pads back over to set them down next to Raven. "I think I did that right." He says as he lays down next to her, leaving her to tend to her wounds. His dark, unreadable eyes watch the river as his injured ear flicks back and forth, causing him to feel small stabs of pain. Maximus's ear keeps flicking as he rests his head on his paws.

The she-wolf's attention was still on the mist figures. "Don't you see them?" She asked, her eyes wide in surprise. The male mist wolf padded forward, tilting it's head. Raven couldn't help but laugh. "I can attend to my wounds later, but you have to come see them!" The mist wolves padded forward, two of them play-bowing before Raven. The other, padded towards Maximus.

{Before I reply Ido have a quick question. I thought these mist wolves where a flash back or Raven's imagination... What/who are they?}

Crimson woke up and saw Storm sleeping he smiled and thenlicked her muzzle "I gotta get back to work" he wwhispered as he backed quietly out of the den trying no to wake her up.

"Hey, Just stay off it as much as you can," She barked. She got up and streached. She shook her coat and padded out to the forest. She started to look for herbs.

((They aren't a flash back, but if you want, they could simply remain in her imagination. I left it more or less up to you if you wanted Maximus to see them or 'her'. I can work with whatever you choose. ))
