Maximus throws himself under a wolf and kicks up with his legs, throwing him. Maximus then leaps up and slams down into the wolf, grabbing onto it's throat. Maximus holds beneath the chin, so the infected animal can't bite back, and slams his jaws closed hard. Maximus then leaps off, leaving the dead wolf on the ground, and immediately runs after a third. The large brute moves surprisingly fast and grabs onto the wolf's back leg. His teeth puncture tendon, but he's forced to let to as the animal spins around, snapping at him. Maximus dodges back and his eyes glance sideways, spotting the fae return.

On a side note, I think I might erase my character Vera and replace her with some other wolf. At this point, I don't know who, but, eventually I'll probably be replacing her. ))Silver Eye :: Alpha :: Comet PackSilver slipped off into the forest with his usual limber prowess, his shoulders rolling fluidly in his every motion and his gate as supple as a well stretched cat's. He had a certain grace about him in the way that he moved, his ominously dark fur bouncing and ruffling with his every fluid step to show off stark glimpses of the white fur that always rested beneath the surface of his coat, and he held his head as high as he held it keenly. It gave a certainly intriguing impression of both being predatory and dominant, his haunting golden eye leaving nothing unobserved as it swept through the forest like a hawk. He did not make it too far into the forest before he was aware, though his thoughts of Claw's lack of presence nearby. He noticed that she was falling behind after earlier seemed so exuberant. He questioned this odd behavior, flicking a fleeting glance behind himself to look at her, but that was all. HE asked no questions, but only kept moving forward, charcoal gray nose twitching as he began to scent the air. It took no time at all for him to catch an unfamiliar twang in the air, one that was sour enough that he scrunched up his nose. Oh, yes, there was something diseased in his territory, that was for certain, and, scenting beyond the twang, he could smell the tell-tale scent of of mangy wolves. Crimson had been right. There were some very ill dogs on their territory, and now it was his job to flush them out. HE glanced over his shoulder once more. "Stay close," he whispered coarsely to his beta female, motioning with a curt jerk of his head for her to pick up her pace. "Our enemies are close, and they do not smell as though they are well," he informed, his tone trailing into that of concentration. His steps became much more tentative yet just as fast, seeming to float upon the brush instead of crush it down. It was all too quickly that he heard snarls and growls, some from in front and some from behind. And they moved, and they moved, and they moved. Silver froze, shoulders tense with the rest of his body. All around he could hear snarls and snapping, heavy paw steps snapping twigs and tangling in the brush, and the sound kept on relocating again and again. He realized that Claw and himself were being circled haphazardly. There was no order to the moves which he heard surrounding them, and this made Silver uneasy. "We are surrounded. On guard. Be...ready."
