I lunged again, snapping my jaws. The bear rose up once more and tried to throw off the other wolf on its back. It finally gave up and came back down again. I grabbed it by the ear and tugged on it hard, causing the bear to cry out in pain.

The bear finally gave up once it knew that it was outnumber and that we would not give up. I glanced at the other wolf and gave her a nod, saying that the bear was surrendering. Meanwhile I glanced over at Oliver, who still had not moved. Panic shot through me as I raced over to him and nudged him lightly with my muzzle, a soft whine escaping my jaws.
