Matt slid out of the passenger side door of his father's truck with a heaved sigh; he had turned up late again, the ranch expected this though, they always did because Matt was always late. Sherlock jumped out beside him and gave his fluffy tail a brisk wag as he took in the familiar surroundings of the ranch, Matt looked down at the wolfish looking dog with a grin, "Stay here, Sherlock, I can't be chasing after you when I've got Hunter to look after," he said with a chuckle, going round to the back of the trailer and pulling open the door. Hunter turned his head a little and nickered his approval, shaking out his mane and stepping to one side to allow Matt to clip on the lead rope and lead him back out of the trailer. Sherlock rumbled out a bark which Hunter matched with a greeting nicker and Matt laughed, scratching Hunter's nose and waving for his dad to grab the rest of the tack.

As Matt led Hunter into the stallion stables he took in the ranch that he hadn't seen for so long, he paused momentarily as Sherlock ducked in front of his feet and padded on ahead until he came to Hunter's stall where he wagged his tail and barked approvingly which much to Matt's frustration caused some of the horses to look up. Matt's dad took Hunter's tack to the tack room whilst Matt placed Hunter in his stall and brushed his mane back behind his ear. Sherlock sat beside the door and gave his ear a scratch watching Matt remove Hunter's lead rope and close the door to Hunter's stall, "I'll be back soon," Matt promised, rubbing Hunter's nose and walking back to the car park to wave his dad off, "C'mon Sherlock, let's go say bye."

CLARA

Clara walked for a while, until going upon a new car arriving to the ranch. Curious she walked over and watched from a tree. A boy walked out. Looking at him, she saw a dog and smiled. Walking over, she looked at him and smiled. "Hi!" she said. This was the first time in history that she said hi first to so many people.

'' I love dallies'' Kai replied, glad to engage in conversation. He quite like Savannah, she seemed understanding and kind. '' She's a sighthound mix, but mainly greyhound, as you probably saw!'' he said with a laugh. He met her eyes with his friendly gaze and blushed slightly.

Savannah caught her looking at her and quickly looked down on the floor, moving around some dust with her boot. Clearly embarrassed."..so..what horse do you own?" she asked, trying to kill the awkward silence.

"Oh hey," He replied with a smile, watching from the corner of his eye as Sherlock bounded over to the trees and began to sniff around, "Nice to meet you, I'm Matt." Matt brushed his hair back out of his eyes and pushed his hands into his pockets, he recognized the girl - he knew her from the last time he had been to the ranch - they hadn't spoken before now. It was a good few seconds until Sherlock realized Matt was speaking to anyone at which point he raced over and wagged his tail madly, he hopped up and down for a few moments before he sat down and wagged his tail quickly, "And this is Sherlock," Matt added, spurred on by his dog's sudden enthusiasm.

Kai tried to make use of the conversation '' oh, I own the dappled grey. Quest. How about you?'' he said with a sheepish smile, clearly embarrassed himself. He laid a hand on Rain's back for comfort, like he did in many situations.

CLARA

Clara smiled and petted him. "Oh he's gorgeous" she smiled. "I'm Clara by the way. It's nice to meet you" she said. "I've got a cat myself. Seems like the only one around, at the moment" she frowned and looked up at him.

Matt ran his hand through his hair and gave it a good fluff, "I quite like cats actually, although it's true there never does seem to be many around," he replied, watching as Sherlock put his nose to the floor and followed a scent over to the trees and froze looking up into the tree before he barked and spun in a quick circle. Matt turned his attention from his dog to Clara and smiled warmly, "So do you have a horse here?" he asked her, tilting his head a little as he did so.

"Yeah, I do" she said. "Her names Star. She a mare and a Gypsy Vanner" she said. "And she reared today. Dropping me off and hurting my hand" Clara sighed. "But that doesn't matter! What riding do you do?" she asked. "I do English" Clara turned around to see Sherlock barking at a tree. Looking up she saw Kitty, her cat hissing down. "Oh god" she groaned. "My cat's up there"

Savannah looked back up, her face still a bit pink but she could feel the redness slowly fade. "I own a dutch warmblood in the stallion and gelding barn. His name is Serenity" she said and petted Rain's head. It made her wonder, were was her dog at the moment?
