Fire jumped in surprise as her mother's head shot upward. She made a face. "Please warn me next time, Mum." Her mother payed no attention to her filly as she lifted her nose into the air, and got up. She tried with her mother through the trees, and saw a herd with a black stallion, who was standing beside a white mare. For some reason, Fire liked them, and blinked when the black stallion called out, "Phoenix!"
