Ash could see a springbok out of the corner of his eyes, the large male grinned in amusement from his tree den. Licking his maw, Ash silently climbed to a lower branch, keeping his gaze fixed on the unaware young buck. Once he was at a suitable ground level, Ash closed in on the buck.

Midnight's ear twitched. She could smell yet another unfamiliar cat, but this time, instead of a hostile approach, she was going to be quite friendly to this other leopard. Dragging an antelope from her jaws, she turned around, and saw that the unfamiliar leopard was hunting from a tree. Slowly, crouching behind some bushes, she padded towards him, without scaring the buck.

Ash smirked, prowling silently around in the grass. He took cover behind a rock, silently covering up his scent. Once the buck had wandered close enough, Ash bent his legs and used his powerful shoulders to spring up onto the rock. Quickly, he propelled himself off the rock, launching his body forwards. The buck made a run for it, however, it was too late. Ash had already knocked it to the floor, he then peered around, standing over his prey. He then noticed the other leopard advancing on him, he stood protectively over his kill, showing his upper jaw.

"Hi there," said Midnight. "Nice hunting." She looked at the tom-leopard with soft, blue eyes. "Don't worry, I'm no threat."

Ash concentrated his gaze on the feline, a deep rumble forming in his chest. "Well, as long as you don't touch my kill..." He huffed, his lime orbs contracting. Ash flicked his tail in pleasure, he stood up tall and proud. "But thankyou," he said, focusing on her characteristics.

"Don't worry, I'm full," she purred. "My name's Midnight. What's your name?"

Ash replied deeply, standing slightly intimidatingly. "Ash, I am known as Ash," he repeated, glaring intently and sizing the other cat up.

Midnight nodded, staring up at Ash. "So... Er.. What are you doing here? You're on our pride's territory." She tried to make her voice sound nonthreatening.

Ash purred mischievously, "well, my den is up in that tree," he explained, pointing to a large tree. Ash frowned and lashed his tail in displeasure, "I was forced out by a different territory, even though it was unoccupied... And the prey has been scarce recently, I am a lonesome male, but you can't understand that empty pain," he growled, picking the buck up. "I guess this is yours then..." He groaned, placing the buck at her feet, beginning to saunter away.

"Hey, no, this is yours," Midnight said, nudging the buck back. "I only joined this pride a couple of days ago. I'm sure you could join, if you want."
