One of the women faced Hunter as she carried the basket of puppies. "Hush now, we've cut you some slack because your wife was about to have puppies but now we have to train you. Your wife will be trained when she can but for now you'll be trained to be useful. Okay?" She asked Hunter as she pet him.

Rain walked along the yard and she turned back to see Hunter being talked to. She whined a little but the woman silenced her with a look. Rain was led into a large barn that smelled strongly of horse. She wrinkled her nose at the smell, but sighed with content as she was led into a fair sized stall with a clean blanket and food and water on the ground.

--Hunter whined, but let the woman pet him. He licked her hand, trying to say sorry. he looked at the other hunting dogs—a Basset Hound and a Bloodhound, the finest hunting dogs there are, but a bit sad looking. Not sad, ugly. But Hunter didn't judge, that wasn't their fault they looked like that.

The bloodhound looked over at Hunter curiously "Hey, aren't you the new dog with the Aussie mate and who killed the calf? What's your story?" He asked curiously. He perked his ears, well a bit considering the mass and amount of his long velvety ears.

Rain is sleeping. And, at one point the woman put the puppies in there.

--Hunter almost growled. "We didn't kill—" he sighed, deciding to just give up. "Well, I used to live in the suburbs. Then I went to join a pack of dogs. Some time later, I met Rain, whose a loner. I brought her to my pack and my Alpha let her join. We went to a soup factory to get some food together, but we got caught. We were then sent to a rich family. Everyone said they were bad, but we didn't believe them. And one day... we went a bit too far. We mated and... the butler found out. They brought us here and... yeah."

The bloodhound just nodded and smiled "Well, accidents only happen to the best of us. Although, I admit that is a little to far.". He sat down and looked wistfully out the window. " I was born on a small ranch, and was bred for sniffing out drugs and bombs. I was brought to a sherrif's office and I lived there for a while. Then I was chasing a criminal when he turned on me. Put some weird rag to my mouth. He muzzled me, brought me to the shelter, and told them I was vicious. I was muzzled until the woman adopted me. Been living here ever since." he said in a dreamy tone.

--Hunter sighed. "I know... but she was mad at me and... hear heat scent was so attractive..." he dozed off a bit. He shook out the thought and listened to his story. After hearing that, he turned to the basset hound. "What about you?"
-"Oh, I was just born on this farm." He said. "My family was adopted but I stayed here."

The bloodhound nodded "All of the dogs here were rescued from death and risky cases. The old woman is our savior, even if she has us work." He said with another nod. He gazed out at the fields with the sheep and cows and horses and everything that was there.

--Hunter flicked his ears. "Cool," he looked at the other dogs. "They all seem healthy, not a scar on them. Where are they from?" he asked, his head lightly cocked.

The bloodhound looked around "Well, some have stories similar to yours. Strays, rescued, abandoned again. Some others were rescued directly from the streets others from shelters. We all have one thing left in common, we are all here and we enjoy it." The bloodhound said with a yawn."I think theirs even a beagle here with a story exactly like yours." he said as he flicked his tail to the cluster of other dogs beginning to try to nap.

--"Hm," he flicked his ears. "This is kind of a small hunting pack. Is it, like, still growing?" he asked with his heat tilted. He knew most hunting packs had a couple dozen of hunting dogs.
