Nevaeh let out a relieved sigh and licked her son between the ears. "Soon you both will be able to go out with me and maybe even your father." She said. " And then you'll see what's beyond the den walls." She looked down at Aurora, who was so happy that her whole body was wriggling. Nevaeh giggled and nodded her head. "The world out there will seem really big to you two, but we'll be here to guide you for as long as we can." She promised then two and nuzzled them. The thoughts of her own mother swirled in her head.

I sneak over to my pups, "She's right." I say with a smile. "Soon you can go anywhere. But, you must be with one of us, do you hear me?" I ask them, giving them a stern look. I watch as Zeus nods.

Nevaeh watched Koda come and speak to the pups. In the back of her mind, she wondered if her father had cared for her like Koda did with their pups.

Aurora smiled and nodded her head. "Yes Daddy!" She agreed and looked over at Zeus. "And then I'll tag along with you until I become an apprentice!" She yipped, joking a little.

I lay down with the pups, "Got any ideas of what you want to be in the pack?" I ask them, a proud, happy smile on my muzzle.

I tap my paw, "Well.. I would like to be Alpha but, I would also love to be a patroller like you, dad!" I bark to him, tail beating on the ground, excited.

Aurora tilted her head a bit and looked at Zeus. Her tail stopped wagging and she looked at her father. "I....um....I wanna....um...." Maybe a healer like Brid? No, she didn't much care for the scent of herbs that always came from her sister. A patroller? No, she couldn't even pin Zeus down. No way would she be able to defend the pack. A hunter? She wasn't the fastest dog and would probably lose prey because of it. She looked up at her father and shrugged. "I don't know daddy." She admitted.

I put my nose to Aurora's, "You will know in time, my daughter." I tell her with a smile. "I was like you, hun, I didn't know what I wanted to be either." I add, for some reassurance.
