Darkness clouds everything for you as you are shaken and jumbled, body rippling with fear as you stumble blindly, trying to keep your balance. The darkness scares you, and you whinny, panicked. You can hear other horses, some calm, some kicking the shining, hard gates in front of you. Suddenly, the movement stops, and you freeze, still for just a moment as the sound of creaking metal meets you, foreign to your wild ears. There's something around your face, and it tugs you, pulling you along as you shake, down a slope and into...grass. You feel grass beneath your hooves, and it soothes you. You are motionless, drinking in the scent of basil and wild mint, listening to the breeze and the echoes of other horses. Then, suddenly, your eyes are uncovered, your head free, and you run, faster than you ever have before.

You are free.

Due to the failing amount of grazing land and good weather, you've been taken from your wild mustang reserves and moved to an entire different area. This area is a horse sanctuary off of the Carribean, a small, almost tropical island that serves as your sanctuary. It's spring, so warmth and food isn't a problem, but you've been separated from your herd and have no protection. The horses already here are tough, and will do most anything to make bigger their herds. Will you band together and make yourself a herd, or will you stay alone and fight for survival?

1 ) All Tess's rules apply, under any and all circumstances.
2 ) Stallions may mate with an unwilling mare, as long as there is no force and the owner of the mare's owner gives permission. Same goes for covering a mare that's always been covered. It's up to the mare's owner to decide which stallion's foal it is.
3 ) Stallions may kill other stallion's foals, as long as the owner is okay with it. Same goes for snaking mares or other stallion's mares.
4 ) Plot twists and ideas to extend the plot itself are always welcome through PM.
5 ) You must post at least one full paragraph (three to five sentences) per character when you reply. There will be no exceptions.
6 ) Post must be neat, detailed and have proper grammar/punctuation.
7 ) Use [ ... ], [[ ... ]], { ... }, {{ ... }}, ( ... ), (( ... )) or OOC: ... when talking out of character.
8 ) Power-Playing, God-Modding and Auto Fighting will not be permitted in this RP.
9 ) From now on, horses may talk, but only if there is still three sentences aside from dialogue. You must also keep horse characteristics the same. Don't let human morals come into a horse's head.
10 ) You MAY use your own form.
11 ) You may play as many characters as you like, but you must have one male character for every four females. E.g. Four mares: one stallion, eight mares: two stallions, etc.
12 ) Horses in this RP must be Mustangs, Paint Horses, Appaloosas, Rocky Mountain Horses or a mix of these, and only these. Full grown horses must be no more than 16.5hh and no less than 14.5hh.
13 ) Territories can only be claimed by established herds.
14 ) Mares may be in the same herd of the player's stallion, but may not be covered by the player's stallion.

Herds are compiled of a stallion and four or more mares, as well as the stallion's offspring and sometimes the former offspring of a mare. Colts typically stay in a herd until thee reach sexual maturity, or three years, then leave to make their own herd or join a band. Occasionally, fillies will leave at this time as well. Once a stallion has four or more mares, the form below must be filled out and PMed to me before it will become an official herd.

Bands are compiled of a stallion and three or less mares, three or more stallions and colts or three or more mares and fillies. Colts and fillies will join bands before they are able to get a herd of their own, and lone stallions or mares will often band together for protection. Once a stallion has mares or a group of horses band together, the form below must be filled out and PMed to me before it will become an official band.

Horses without a herd are called lone horses. They can be any sex, any age, and typically won't survive long by themselves. Their main goal is to find a herd or band.

Spring
Warm in the day and cool in the mornings and nights. Sometimes it may even rain. Mares are in heat and stallions are more aggressive, breeding with their mares and stealing mares from other herds. Mares might even be foaling, a week after this they can be recovered and carry a new foal for the next year

Image
Mustang
Mustangs actually are an American breed. Their ancestors came frome Spain in the 1600's, but they were origionally breeded in America, therefore, they are an American breed. The Mustang is a smaller breed, with an average height of only 14 hands. The Mustang comes in all colors and are usually pretty quick. Today it is estimated that 33,000 mustangs are still roaming the western states freely.

Paint Horse
The Paint Horse is another breed whose descendants came from Spain. The average height of these majestic horses are 15-16 hands. The predominant color of the paint horse is white with any other equine color. There are 3 coat patterns as well. Tobiano[ The colored and white spots are usually even ], Overo[ The color takes up most of the body with some patches of white, like the picture to the left ], Tovero[Mostly white with a few spots of color]

Appaloosa
This breed comes from the United States and has an average height of 16.0 hands. This breed's predominant coats are all colors with 5 different types of coat patterns[ Leopard, Blanket, Snowflake, Frost, or Marbelized ]. In the 1700's, the Nez Perce tribe developed the Appaloosa for its speed, intelligence, hardiness, and strength. Many people believe that this breed is too strong-willed and stubborn to be trained. That is not true. Appaloosas are great horses and make amazing riders for kids.

Rocky Mountain Horse
Rocky Mountain Horses stand between 14.2 and 16 hands high. Any solid color is accepted by the registry, but a dark brown color called "chocolate" with a pale, "flaxen" mane and tail is preferred. This coloration is the result of the relatively rare silver dapple gene acting on a black base coat. Although uncommon, this gene has been found in over a dozen breeds, including the Rocky Mountain Horse.Minimal white markings are accepted by the registry, although leg markings may not extend above the knee.

.GENDER.
-I am obviously a mare, you imbecile!-
.PERSONALITY.
-I am very over dominant, and I hate others mares, and stallions. I hate other horses in general. I am very large for a mare, and i like to use my size to my advantage, using it to win fights and such-
.HISTORY.
-I was born out of a stallion named Blind Man's Cry. My mother was his lead mare. She was quite old when she had me, but boy, was she ever strong for her age. My mother's name was Savannah Wind, and she was 17 years old when I was birthed. She was the lead mare at the time, and taught me everything I needed to know about being dominant and how to lead a herd with a gentle yet firm hoof. Unfortunately, she died when I was two years old, just as I was getting ready to leave the herd. I was quite upset by this, and left the herd immediately, hoping to leave my sorrows behind with that herd. A few weeks later, and handsome bachelor named Riverdance, ended up crossing paths with me. He was young like me, a very charming dapple gray. I joined Riverdance, and he sired all of my foals. All seven of the little beauties. I was always his favorite, and his lead mare. I fought many of his new mares off in order to obtain the position, but remained undefeated. My life was going quite well, and i was a very happy horse, until about three weeks ago, when along with Riverdance and my yearling colt, my herd was rounded up, by those terrible metal birds that the two-legs ride in. I was able to escape along with one other mare, but we decided to part ways. I have been wandering since, looking for a herd willing to take in an older experienced mare like myself-
.HERD.
-If you listened to anything I said about my history, you would know that I am without a herd-
