Cayenne smiled, and followed Brook with a "Sure." He lay down, and was about to speak, but he but his tongue when Brook said "best friend". He couldn't only be a best friend, right? He turned his head and began licking his frozen pelt, sighing as the ice began to thaw.
Shadow woke with a start, eyes closed. She let her fluffy ears tune in to the sounds. Rain hitting the window...water going down the pipes...dogs? She opened her eyes, and looked at the stairs, wondering If she should go down and check. It was quiet for a while, and Shadow got to her paws, standing in the pile of abandoned clothes that were her bed. The Aussie perked her ears, and sure enough, the quiet murmured of dogs were heard, and as she stepped towards the stairs silently, the smell overpowered her. She walked down the stairs, without a single noise. She watched the group for a long time, aware that she smelled like tags, not like dog. The Aussie fluffed up. "Who are you?" She growled, staring down at them with a growl. The first dog to catch her attention was a handsome German shepherd, then a red husky and a tiny she-dog between them.
