When young males become colts, at around two years of age, the stallion drives them away. The colts then roam with other young males until they can gather their own band of females.•••
A mare has 4 stages of heat;
0- Not interested in a stallion at all
1-Still not interested in a stallion
2-Slightly interested but will still fight
3-Interested but will fight if the stallion tries to hard
4-Very interested and will hardly fight against the stallion
