"Sorry" Kivuli blushed. "I didn't mean to...." Kivuli drank to his fill then took a seat by a large, obsidian stone. He had cut his front, left paw rather deeply when he tried to stop himself from splashing into the water. Carefully he licked the cut in the pad of his foot, pulling dirt and rock from the wound.

(ahhh I thought so but Yeah...never mind. back to a little over tnree months))
"yeah" she says noding shaking the dust of her coat then padding over to the water

Mali drank deeply. She was thirstier than before. "Are you alright, Kivuli?" She began to lick his paw. "Does that hurt?"

Kivuli practically melted. He was such a romantic. "A little" he wouldn't lie. Kivuli may have been big and strong but pain was pain. He watched as Mali licked his wound. He was glad she and their cub had found water. After a moment he put his foot back to the earth. He filled his lungs with air through his nose, purging it back through his open mouth. "I smell zebra" he said softly, letting his tail twitch with desire. "Just beyond the other side of that tall bank."

Mali looked at her mate. "Are you really that hungry?" She was not hungry. The heat had made her feel drowsy and she wasn't in the mood to hunt. "Why don't we stay here a while? Until the water runs out."

jenny finished drinking and went over to her parents.

"Well, I guess I'm not all that hungry" Kivuli answered. He bent down and drank a bit more water, letting his stomach stretch and be filled. The night was now here,darkness surrounded the tiny pride as they waited by the water.

Mali walked to a dried and brittle bush and lay down. She curled up and relaxed, almost into slumber. "Jenny, are you hungry?" Her voice was drowsy and she looked to be the verge of sleep.

Kivuli lept over the damp bed where the water lay. He crouched low to the ground and focused his glare on a tiny twitch between two rocks. He wasn't allowed to hunt the zebra so he would find something else to hunt, like a lizard. He crawled closer and closer to the rocks, letting his tongue roll over his muzzle again. He was silent beyond the tiny pebbles that fell behind him as the ground between his toes cracked and fell together. At the last moment he stretched out and clamped the two rocks together with his strong front paws. The tiny red lizard was instantly crushed.

"not really" she said watching her dad and mimicing his motions
