She nuzzled him back, showing that she accepted. She nickered a soft yes, then looked at the stallion. He was a very handsome paint, that had a long flowing mane.

Kidd's eyes widened at the sound,and his tough guy image faltered for a moment before he took another step towards the edge.He was now extremely close to going down,and one step forward would lead him down."I'm sure it was just a little squirrel." the stallion said,looking back to Shiloh with a reassuring grin.

Memory cocked her head,very clearly not realizing why he was apologizing."And why in the world are you apologizing?Humans are simply amazing,no foraging the lands for scraps of dried out food.No,it all comes in a wonderful little bucket.And water whenever you want it!Most are kind beings,and will caress you for doing good."There was a trace of longing in her voice as she reminisced."Very few humans do bad to a horse,but like with any creature there are bad apples."The little mare had no idea why she was relaying all of these things to this stallion,she had no reason to try and convince him about the creatures she had so dutifully served.

Canis nosed her sister up to the stallion,then stepped away from behind her to arrive at her side.When he spoke,instead of giving Dia time to possibly react she answered instead,knowing how shy the other mare was."That's my half-sister,Dia." she said softly,not ready to disclose the name in it's entirety.She was not yet ready to trust him that much.Canis believed that once another horse knew your entire name you had to be incredibly close.With a little surprise she felt Dia leaning into her,something that she had not done since she was a yearling.

Dia was terrified to be addressed by the stallion so quickly,and her fear was even more fueled because of the mysterious other stallion.It seemed as if she were the only one to notice him,and though she wanted to say something any words eluded her.The chestnut was grateful when Canis answered the stallion's question and absentmindedly leaned against her sister.Their relationship was odd as most horses did not feel emotional attachment to their siblings,merely accepting them but not actively pursuing a friendship or bond.

Shiloh nodded as Kidd reassured her. "I'll follow you down." She stepped ahead and the faltered. Almost hitting the stallion and falling down the ravine. Fortunately she caught herself just in time and backed up. "Or I could wait right here." She planted her hooves and swiveled her ears. Waiting for the sound of rustling trees. "How fast do you think you can come up this slope?" She asked in case whatever was down there turned out be dangerous. Thinking about what might be down there she panicked "What if its like a trap or something? Maybe we should try to follow the trail farther." She kept turning to look at the trail as she panicked more "It just seems really unstable." She added.

The stallion had no clue how fast he could scale the ravine should something happen,but he didn't think about it too much."I'll make it up fast enough if this doesn't turn out right.Just promise,no matter what,that you won't come down unless I say it's OK.Please." Kidd watched the mare worriedly,then took a staggered breath before beginning his descent.The slope was steeper than he had anticipated,and the going was slower than he had previously thought.His wide hooves slipped and slid down,and one time he believed that he was going to tumble down.

The patterned stallion listened to the bay mare talk about her humans. Her life with the humans. Shufly didn't like the thought of humans, he preferred his wild lineage. "But it is because of humans that you are here." Shufly stated, his dark eyes focused on her delicate features. "A place where obliviously you do not belong, a place where you could die. Is that not evil?" Shufly pondered, flicking his tail across his haunches.

“I don’t believe we have.” Luna stated, her forelock was covering her eyes and she peered at him through the thick white hair. “A pleasure Des. I’m Luna.” She murmured. The mare stiffened when she saw another stallion appear next to Des. The mare took a few hesitant steps back, lifting her head, her eyes now visible.

"It is because of a singular human that I am here.For every bad one,there are many good ones." Memory said,looking intently at the stallion.Perhaps there was a way to put that into terms more relevant to his experiences."Take,for example horses such as yourself," she began,"you know that there are horses that can be the nicest creatures,but in relation there are also some that are cruel.It's natural." The mare flicked her head backwards,going after whatever insects had settled onto her haunches.It was with a quick cry that she was met with the sticky mud,and Memory was startled just briefly at it's appearance.She had not thought that there was that much on her.He must think I'm insane! she thought,I look even more feral than he and here I am spouting off stuff about being a champion.

The stallion understood where the mare was coming from. “I understand.” He said thoughtfully. Shufly gazed at the mare with a new appreciation. She wasn’t one of the airhead mares he had seen countless bachelors chase after. Could it be because of her time in civilization? Nah. The corners of the stallion’s pink wrinkled muzzle twitched, as the mare’s eyes appeared horrified as her appearance. “A tad muddy eh?” Shufly asked in a light and teasing tone.

"Oh ha ha." Memory said haughtily,turning her back to the stallion.Feeling just a tiny bit playful she cocked her back leg,slamming it into the mud with the intent of splashing the stallion.To tell the truth,she was growing a little bit impatient here and was surprised the stallion had not made a move.And,she wanted to get somewhere to wash this dang mud off.Now that she was aware of its presence it was beginning to bother her greatly.

Shiloh gasped as she watched the stallion make his way down. She wasn't going to attempt to follow him unless there was something actually worth following him down there for. She pawed the dirt impatiently as she waited. Mostly she was concerned about the horse that had gone down there and what happened to it.

The stallion smirked again. The stallion flinched back as the mud assaulted him, flinging onto his face and chest. Shufly grunted and pinned his ears, teasingly of course, and snaked his head out and nipped the mare in the chest. The patterned stallion wheeled on his haunches and trotted away from the mare, his tail streaming. Shufly halted and turned his head in her direction. “You want to get that mud off you? Follow me.” Shufly teased.
