Territorial (Stray Dog RP accepting)

"It's not your fault. At least not directly. I should have thought to warn it first." He shrugged. His ears perked up at the sight of the river. Before she could finish her sentence, he dashed toward it, marveling how the cool water washed away the dirt and grime. He rolled over and over, washing the last traces of it from his fur. He leaped onto bank, and shook his fur. His legs still had burs attached to his fur, but at least they were white. He settled down on the pebbles. "I must warn you, my tale isn't happy. If you're sure you want to hear it, then I will tell."

Willow couldn't help but smile as he enjoyed the water. When he finished bathing, she turned attentive. At his warning, she gave a wry laugh. "Being a stray isn't exactly very happy, either. I'm sure I can handle it." She had already prepared for his story. She already knew from her previous reaction to seeing him talk to the fox that she actually wouldn't be able to handle it.

I deserve the right to know, she reminded herself. She knew if she didn't find out, it would continue to bug her. She'd rather find out now.

Jakoby thought for a moment, his eyes glazed by thought. "It stared a long ways from here, in the snowy wilderness. I had run from my sled team. I was hungry, alone and cold when I met her. I thought the star-wolf had fallen from the heavens! Her fur was silver, and her eyes as blue as the sky!" His gaze turned wistful as he remember his mate. "I had met a she-wolf! I couldn't believe it when she agreed to be my mate. Soon we had two pups, one was silver like her mother, and the other was black as night. His eyes suddenly burned with cold fire. "Not long after, my old owner found us. I was over-joyed, I thought he would love my new family! But he didn't. He killed them, shot then as they tried to run. He could not bring himself to shoot me though. So he ran when I turned on him." He paused, momentarily overcome with old memories.

She whined loudly and spun round, "hey" she growled loudly "what was that for" she forced her yawn to stay in her throat. She stood tall ready to attack but sleeply her foot slipped but she quickly scrambled back up, trying not look her in the eye, but imbarrased, she low growled at her...

Belle jumped in shock. "I-I'm sorry! I thought your tail was a squirrel!" Belle backed up and lowered her head apologetically. She whined, not liking the fact she accidentally attacked an innocent dog. "Are you okay?" she asked the shocked and apparently clumsy dog. She hadn't missed her stumble.

Willow's eyes widened, and she sat there, staring at him. She didn't move, nor did she say a thing. She held back her tears. That's horrible.. very horrible, she thought sadly, looking down. She refused to cry. She said she could handle it, so she would force herself to appear as if she was, even if she was breaking down inside. I'm such a soft dog.. I'm on the verge of tears already. But I have to remain strong if I want to hear the rest.

She raised her head when she managed to compose herself. "I'm very sorry to hear that." Her voice wavered slightly at the beginning of her sentence, and then steadied near the end. She wasn't going to show that she had been about to cry.

Jakoby ignored the wavier in her voice. "I wandered, my heart broken and shattered. I know not direction I travelled in, nor the way back to that place. It must have been a year later, when I stumbled into a young fox. It was stuck in a hunters trap. It was so small, and it reminded me dearly of my son. Its fur was even as black as his. So I saved it." He smiled at the memory. For some reason, we stuck together. And eventually, he taught me fox, and I taught him a little dog. He preferred to speak in the foxes' tongue, though. I found out his name Niixten. It meant night. We must have travelled together for at least another year. I thought that finally, I might pick up the pieces of my shattered heart and move on. I was wrong. A hunter, another one saw us on a hill. He chased us for a day and a night until we were cornered in a gorge. When he fired his gun, at me at I might add, Niixten leaped in front of me. He gave his life for mine. I cannot say I let this human live. I ran, guilty that someone would find the dead hunter and track me down. I bothered not to take care of myself, eating what I could find. Life did not seem worth living. Eventually, I turned up here. He fixed his pale gaze on Willow, but then his eyes became unfocused. Memories of Niixten were still painful.

Willow frowned. Suddenly, her own problems were insignificant, minor compared to his history. She had simply been abandoned; Jakoby had lost his family to death-- no, to murder. Willow had simply been a victim of abandonment. Now she felt even guiltier. She had made him retell a terrible past. A past he probably didn't want to bring up again.

She stood up and walked over to him. She pressed her nose against his muzzle. She knew it was far too late to comfort him about what was merely history, but she did want to show him that she cared.

Jakoby's eyes widened in shock as Willow pressed her nose against his. He knew it was merely a comforting gesture, but it shocked him all the same. He stuttered for a moment before coming up with an audible word. "T-Thank you."

Willow nodded, pulling away. "It's the least I can do. I can't really say I've ever felt your pain before. The only thing I can relate to is being betrayed by humans." She gave a sigh.

Then she shook her head. "Let's not talk about unhappy things." She looked around, before she heard a sound. She tensed, hearing the sound again. This time she recognized the sound, and it was her own stomach. She gave a small embarrassed laugh. "Are you hungry?" she asked, to change the subject.

"Yeah im fine, sorry for that little outbursed, I was just shocked." She licks her tail... "it was all my fault, I should of been more carfull" she bows her head... "Could I possible ask you name?" She asked politely
