I grinned and made my way out of the den. When I was walking by Gem I nudged her paw. "Your it!" I shouted playfully and ran off.

I laughed as I ran. I turned to look at my mum and when I turned back there was a tree right in front of me and I couldn't stop myself. I ended up whacking my head off the tree and fainting.

My ears twitched and I opened my eyes. Something was wrong. I could sense it. I raced out to Gem and when I saw Sparky I stopped and stood still, a tear sliding to the ground. "What happened." I asked Gem in a low whisper.
