. g e n d e r . mare
. a g e . three years and seven months
. b r e e d . wild mustang. h i s t o r y . Denali was born in a large herd and raised just like any other filly. However, she did not wish to stay in the herd. All of her life she looked out at the wide open spaces and yearned to wander through the endless wild. So, when the time came, she left the herd and was freed. With her came her best friend and half-sister Kateri, who also dreamed of freedom. Together, the two horses wandered around, combating predators and skirting stallions.
. p e r s o n a l i t y . While she does enjoy thinking and silence, she tends to be brash, loud, and snarky when displeased or excited. She will not put up with anything she dislikes; Denali is stubborn in almost every way. Whereas she contemplates things like why the leaves blow in the wind, she'll think almost nothing of what's coming out of her mouth. She snaps back with replies and make decisions far too quickly. Because she acts so fast and is so impatient, she often makes mistakes. The mare finds it hard to brush those mistakes off; they haunt her and, sometimes, force her to think before acting for fear of more mistakes. She is not too irritable but, she cares about most everything she comes across and will fight fiercely (and sometimes pointlessly) to defend those things and horses.

roran // stallion // two years old // arabian // bachelor
physical
14.8 hands high // 940 lbs/426 kg // long and thin face // wide black eyes // lithe frame // wide neck // silver dappled coat // white, flowing mane and tail // four white socks
mental
jumpy // introverted // fears judgement and ridicule // has a remarkable memory // enjoys exercise // dislikes lengthy conversations // is looking for a mare who won't make fun of him // really interested in other arabians and arabian crosses
past
roran was born to a captive arabian mare who, while pregnant, was sold to a family as a trail horse for their young child to ride. // the flighty mare quickly proved to be much more trouble than the family anticipated. // they were foolish enough to try and take her out for rides on her own, leaving roran behind. // the mare was always distraught when this happened, and usually bucked and took off in attempts to get back to her foal. // additionally, the cost of feeding two horses was much more than they had thought it would be. // so, when it inevitably came time for the family to move move away from their small two-acre, weed-filled property, they left both horses behind to fend for themselves. // roran's mother quickly took notice that the humans were not returning to feed them both, so she took matters into her own hooves. // she took roran out of the fenced-in pasture they'd been locked in and set out for the wild. // while she always had a sense of adventure, roran was scared most of the time. // he had been raised on love and comfort, and the wild open spaces were not his cup of tea. // he needed to be protected, too, so his mother found herself a good stallion and joined his herd. // roran was then raised under protective eyes, though said eyes could never seem to get over his strange arabian appearance and pampered air. // most of the other foals made things hard for him, teasing and ignoring him. // so much so that, even though he was still afraid of the wild, he decided to leave the herd early and start a new life among the other bachelors.
present
currently, little roran does not have any goals. // he's just hoping for some peace and quiet. // of course, along the way, he wouldn't mind picking up a few friends and exploring a few new places. // as long as he feels safe doing so he'll climb mountains and traverse rivers just for the bragging rights and the sights to see at the end of each small journey. // (perhaps his mother's adventurous spirit has seeded inside of him after all...)
