as the sun peered from behind the green hills, it burned the grass with kisses, casting a ghostly orange shadow on the alleys. his ears twitched and his eyes flickered open as he stared in awe and wonder at the beautiful sunset. he rose to his sore paw pads and stretched, before giving his little tail a little chase. there was nothing to do in a morning when his mother was asleep, so he sniffed the air and followed the scent of a hare in the meadow. ears erect; tail a-wagging; eyes bright, he bounded into the wild and overgrown grass. there was indeed a khaki hare frolicking to and forth in the long grass, and boy did he hop for it when he saw the young puppy come stumbling towards it. a yelp could be heard as the hare was pulled back by the ever-obliging kenzo, and clenched between his tiny fangs that were blunt. shaking his head around to shush the hare, he pranced lovingly back towards the little hide-out to show his parents.

the sun reflected onto her face and her eyes unscrewed, just to be blinded by the subdued orange sunset in her eyes. she pulled back, her ears flat against her skull, as she turned away the opposite direction. letting her paws stretch out in front of her, she perched beside the shepherd on the cloth of bubble wrap and gave him a tender morning lick behind the ear. the wetness of her tongue would probably wake him up, and as she did that, she raised her snout high in the sky to sniff out the fresh air of the day. all the birds were calling out for their mates, and the crows were sat in rows on the great oak tree. magpies swooped gracefully through the rainbow sky, every so often skidding down to the ground to suck up a worm or grab a shiny item. a smile sprawled across her face; it was all so beautiful. then she looked beside her and saw that her pup was not there, but who cared? being a very intelligent dog, he was sure to be around, he was such a sweetheart.

managing to slip out of the forest suddenly, he then decided to make a dash for it so he didn't have to be seen by the humans. bouncing and leaping through the open air, he skidded into the valleys beneath the hills and he soared with pride before landing on four paws and racing with his imaginary dog friend. then, he fell on his back and began to roll around and made his coat grass-stained. when he passed the two huge oak trees, he rejoiced by standing on his two hind legs and jumping up and down. but it was bad enough racing against something that's not there, he wanted an actual dog to run with so it would be more fun. the thing about being a stray was you were always bored. and plus, you starved unless you caught a hare or bird; which was hard, but not for a saluki-greyhound like him. adding a little prance into his steady pace, he sashayed towards the sparkling forest once again.

the darling fae wandered behind a maple tree in the dark wood, her sharp teeth clamped over a struggling gull. placing it down on the cobblestone path, she saw it was still thrashing at the air and flapping it's wings hopelessly. so she put an end to it, sinking her fangs into it and giving it a last swipe before she saw it had been successfully defeated. it was awkward having to eat 'cat food' like birds but it was the only thing they had when living in wild plains instead of crowded streets. still, it was better than nothing. ripping apart one of the gull's wings, she chewed on it to get a taste of the meat. she had never tried birds. the wing was very hard so she threw it to the side and stuck her nose the open flesh, pulling out some bloody red meat and slurping it down. she kept cautious in case any other starving mutts came pacing along and steals her prized possession. but all she really focused on was getting all the soft, tender and juicy meat down her plug-hole.

underneath the weeping willow tree, she investigated all the flowers growing from beneath the bark. first there was lavender, a purple-blue tinge with a calming smell. some would say it is relaxing and also a very clean aroma. as she had a good smell, she learned more. bees are highly attracted to lavender as she watched a little bumble bee land inches from her nose. sneezing, she scared the poor critter away and returned to adventuring. then, she came across some little yellow flowers which were dandelions. giving them a good sniff, she pulled away faster than ever; they smelled disgusting and they were weeds by the look of their jagged leaves. she circled the bark once more and saw some teeny-tiny white flowers with yellow spots in the center, and they were daisies. they didn't smell of much but she sniffed them anyway to see if they actually did have a smell. when she had sniffed all the flowers, she sat down again and sighed in boredom.
