» Promise looked at the dog sitting by the fountain. She scrambled to the edge and looked over. "Really?" she asked happily.

shilah gently pushed Promise out of the fountain and looked at the dog " that is a good idea because im not going to jump in a cold fountain every time she get's muddy. she said shaking water from her coat

[-Reyna-]

The dog grinned, jumped up on the fountain's edge beside the pup, and balanced as he spoke to her. "The trick is to keep your head high above the water and straighten your tail out. It sort of...balances you out." As he explained, he carefully entered the fountain, demonstrating what he had said. "Then once you've got that down, you kick your legs like you're running on land." Again, he demonstrated, and he kicked his paws in the water and swam around. He stopped and floated so he could watch the pup try, giving an encouraging nod.

» Promise watched him with a cocked head. She was trying to get into the fountain again but she slipped in. Her head barely bobbed above water. She got more water in her nose and sneezed. She moved her paws like she was running. She looked at him, "Am I doing it?" she asked trying to do exactly as he had told her.

[-Reyna-]

Dagger made a sudden move, ready to catch her if she went underwater, but smiled when he saw her try to paddle. "Very good, very good. Make sure you keep that head high or else you'll get more water in your nose." He chuckled a little and swam next to her. "Hmm, try not to kick your paws too fast, or you'll just flail and splash around. Try taking long strides, like this." Dagger showed her as he took long, slow strides with his legs. "I'll tell you what, though...you're quite the natural already." He was a rough 'n' tough canine, but he had a definite soft spot for pups.

» Promise looked up at him. "Really?" she asked happily. Her eyes were sparkling as she tried to do what he had told her to do. She ended up swimming in circles but she kept her head high trying not to go underwater. Her nose burnt a bit from the water and she scrunched her nose. "Like this?" she asked as she kept swimming in circles hoping to please him.

Shilah smiled as she watched the dog teach promise to swim

He chuckled happily, amused as he watched her go in circles. "Yes! Now you're getting it! Say, what's your name, young one? And the name of your friend there?" Dagger nudged the pup along, helping her swim a circular lap in the fountain.

[karasu,]

» Promise wagged her tail happily not noticing that it was splashing water everywhere. "Im Promise" she said happy that she was doing it right. "And that's Shilah" she said pronouncing the name funny.

[-Reyna-]

The dog squinted as her tail splashed water on him, then smiled at her. "Promise and Shilah. Nice to meet the two of you. My name's Dagger, but you can call me Dag if you want." The two had finished their lap, and Dagger got out of the water, balancing on the small concrete edge of the fountain once again. "Need some help getting out, Promise?"
