Alana sighed, and then smiled to her friend. "It's all okay, the past is the past, and the future is the future, great things are ahead of me, I just have to stay positive." Alana watched as the sun began to go down, a sight she loved so dearly, she smiled and squinted her eyes as the golden-orangish sun beamed upon her fur, it soothed her greatly. "My mother is always with me, even if she's not here."

Winnie observed as the brilliant, warm rays of sunshine began to hit the golden pelt of Alana, illuminating what was beginning to become darkness. The light was dazzling to Winnie's dark, brown eyes.
"Sometimes I like to believe that my mother's spirit is watching over me," Winnie mused in a barely audible whisper as the last rays of the sun slipped under the horizon.

"Perhaps our mothers met when they crossed the Rainbow Bridge," Winnie smiled brightly as the first star of the night - the North Star - began to peek through the black felt of the dark sky.
Winnie watched as the shining light of the shimmering star reflected off of the dark water of the pond. Frogs began to croak, crickets chirp, and fireflies flit here and there with their bright lights.

She smiles brightly. "Perhaps." She wags her tail, the night was do beautiful here, something she never saw when she was out in the city, the country life was the life for her now, she loved every ounce it had to offer.

"The nights here are gorgeous, aren't they?" Winnie commented dreamily, half to herself. A firefly suddenly flew past her face, shining its bright light, and Winnie nipped at it in a playful manner.
A dazzling light lit up a portion of the sky, and Winnie noticed it was a shooting star. "Quick," Winnie exclaimed joyously, "Make a wish!"

She nodded and giggled a bit, she closed her eyes and made her wish, she wished to see her mother again, just one more time, she opened her eyes a smiled, a small tear rolling down her cheek as she yipped and leaped through the grass like a pup, laughing and barking.

Winnie closed her eyes, squeezing them tight, as she silently wished for something that she knew would never happen, but, nonetheless, she would keep dreaming and wishing for 'til the day she died.
Winnie barked happily and, in a blink of an eye, was sprinting after her friend, tumbling around in the dirt and grass like a pup. She was causing a great ruckus, yet it didn't bother her. She was free to do whatever pleased her now, and she didn't have to worry about survival any longer. She could live now; she was free.

Alana barked and ran along side Winnie, tugging on her ear as they ran, her heart was beating fast and she felt free with the wind, not a care in the world.

It was a joyous night of celebration and friendship.
