Sled Dogs

"You see, living as a sled dog doesn't necessarily mean that you play in the snow all day. No, you train for long periods of time and you sleep in the freezing cold. It's a tough life, and we do have rules around here. So let me hand 'em to you."

Rules

1. Alway obey the law of Tess.
2. No wolf mixes. Don't try to make the rest of us jealous.
3. Do not steal another dog's food. It's unfair and it will cause the other dogs to dislike you.
4. Don't step out of line. Know your place and stick to it.
5. Don't hunt. That's what our mushers are for.
6. Finally, don't abandon us. If you join our team, you must stick to it.

Ranks

First off, you got your Lead Dogs. They are at the top of the food chain, and they can get pretty nasty. They are constantly breaking rules such as stealing food and hunting, but they are at least smart enough not to break any other rules. There are only two Lead Dogs and, of course, they are at the front of the formation.

Now this is where I come in. I am a Wheel Dog. Us Wheel Dogs have to be very strong, since we are closest to the sled and pulling most of the weight. We have a high reputation and are usually more mellow. Like Lead Dogs, there are only two Wheel Dogs.

Next in line you have your Swing Dogs. They run just behind the lead dogs and aid in turning the team. Just like the other ranks, there are only two Swing Dogs. The thing about Swing Dogs is that they are really talkative and never know when enough is enough.

Then you have the Team Dogs. They are right in the middle and all they have to do is follow the dog in front of them. Team Dogs are usually unique and you never know what you are going to get. There are typically 6 Sled Dogs in our sled team.
