Horse Information

A band is a group of horses consisting of a lead stallion, his lead mare, his other mares and their foals. A lead stallion's job is to protect the herd, snake new mares, challenge other stallions for their mares and protect the herd from any kind of threat. The lead stallion then has a lead mare, she is not the stallion's favorite mare, but an older, wiser, trustworthy mare who's job is to lead the band to fresh food and water. She has the power the chase off any mare she dislikes and if they pose a threat to the herd. A mare is an adult female horse that is over three years in age, by then she has reached sexual maturity and can reproduce to make foals. A stallion is an adult male horse that is over three years in age, by then they have reached sexual maturity and can reproduce to make foals. When a filly and a colt reach two and a half years, or two years and six months, they have reached sexual maturity and must be kicked from their band to prevent inbreeding and in their birth band, they will then try to find a band of their own, but are often unsuccesful. A filly is a femal horse under three years of age. A colt is a male horse under three years of age. A yearling is a horse of around one to two years of age, they are still with their herd, but are quickly becoming a nuisance to the other horses and can often be chased out of their birth band. A weanling is a foal that has simply been weaned from it's mother, so it will in short no longer drink it's mother's milk, it will instead begin to eat grass and drink water, play and begin to explor a lot more. A foal is a male of female horse that is under 10 months of age, they don't stray far from their mother's protection and milk until they are weaned off the milk and begin eating grass instead. A bachelor is a stallion, or a group of colts and stallions whom have yet to claim any mares or start a band. They often wander around looking for mares and also stealing them from other bands and are quite frankly just annoying to lead stallions. A loner is often a mare who is without a band and are often targets for stallions to snake.

History: Hidden Warrior is a kind stallion, he doesn’t have a herd at the moment and really wants one. His last herd was completely wiped out by a bush fire, it claimed every single mare and foal in his herd, he was the only survivor. When he sleeps he can remember them all screaming and the nightmares often cause him to wake and get no sleep. Hopefully he can start a new herd here, one that he can protect this time.

Personality: Nera is a kind mare, if treated well, she will soon grow very attached to those she loves and will defend herself if she feels threatened, so in other words, be nice unless you want her black heart to be shown to you.
History: Nera was born into a large herd, her dad, the stallion of the herd had the name King of Hearts, he was also Italian so when she was born she was named Nera Core, meaning Black Heart, a mixture of her fathers name and her colour. When Nera was 2 and soon to leave, her herd was hearded by humans and they took her mother, father and the rest of the herd. Only her and a few other horses, but they were separated and Nera never saw them again

History: Smoke was a top jumper, but when he slipped up and failed in the finals his owner was outraged and abused him. He escaped into the mountains and dissapreared from humans history. After the experience he has been rather aggressive toward any male be it human of horse.

History ;; Maarten was born in a breeding facility and was only 1 year old when people broke in and took horses. Maarten was still young and weak. In the fray, he broke his leg and was discarded. He was found by a stallion who had escaped and helped to recover. His leg has since healed, but he has a large limp.

:Faith is a gentle and motherly mare, when someone is unhappy she will try her best to make them happy. She is often kind and respectful to her stallion, but if that stallion is cruel she will ignore and stay away from him. She is very friendly though not very playful. She is often calm and usually lazy, it is hard to make her sad and though she doesn't get mad often she will fight when angered.:

:Faith was born in a herd that consisted of the her father, the lead stallion, her mother and three other mares. Faith was a late foal, being born in Autumn rather than in spring or early summer. She turned out not to be as playful as the other foals, and she was weak and sickly. Her herd feared that she wouldn't make it, though the filly somehow managed to survive through the harsh Winter and she grew stronger when she was two. When she turned two it was Autumn again, and it was time for the filly to find a different herd, though her sire feared that she may not find a herd before winter, and no lone horse could survive winters, even herd horses froze to death. So Faith stayed for a few more months, ready to leave in the spring.
However, tragedy struck. In late December there was a harsh blizzard, it grew unbelievably cold and the horses could hardly see anything, just the white snow that fell from the sky's and blanketed the lands. It was hard for Faith to see, and the cold caused her to move slower than the rest of the herd. She eventually gave up, stopping and lying in the grass as she waited for death to come. However, she made it. The blizzard died down and the sun came out, though Faith was left in deep snow and she was completely alone. The mare stood, panicking as she realized her herd was gone. She galloped through the area, calling out to her family but she received no responses.
That day, the BLM was holding a roundup, and they sent out several helicopters to scare the wild horses into pens. Faith was one of them, the helicopter was large, loud, and nothing like she has ever seen before. She spooked, moving quicker through the snow. As the panicked mare ran, trying to get away her hoof smacked against a tree root, causing her to fall. Her leg didn't break, though it did swell and was very painful to put any weight on. The helicopter kept pushing, not stopping as it urged the poor mare forward. It took awhile, but she was herded into pens along with a couple hundred other horses, crammed into a trailer and sent off to a holding facility.
She stood for days in the facility, bored out of her mind as there was nothing to do. No one wanted the mare, she was sent from facility to facility, and was close to being shipped to slaughter. However she was saved from that terrible fate, a young woman bought her, and since Faith didn't really fight back the mare was trained easily. Faith spent a year at that small ranch, working and even doing a few shows here and there. She was a good mare, though one of the grooms at the ranch put Faith in one of the paddocks, but was too lazy to lock it, thinking that Faith would just stay in the paddock.
He was wrong. The bay mare noticed this, she liked life here on the ranch but she wanted to return to her wild life. The mare pushed open the gate and bolted, past all the buildings and fences and back to the wild, where she belongs, however she still has a brand on her coat from being captured..:

:Thunderstorm is a calm stallion, only aggressive when he is around a stallion who may try to take his mares. He never forces his mares into anything, only stopping them if they try to leave him. He is kind and caring to his mares and foals, trying his best to keep them safe and out of harms way.:

:Thunderstorm had a pretty normal life, no terrible backstory that some horses may have. He was born in a small herd, her mother covered by a different stallion rather than the one in this herd. The stallion didn't care much for Thunderstorm, and the colt was ignored often. He was even chased out of the herd too early, Thunder was just a yearling when he was kicked out of his birth herd. The lead stallion suddenly darted to him, head low and ears pinned, even occasionally snapping at Thunder's flank so he could just drive the colt away. Thunder squealed and bolted away from his herd, not even bothering to fight back. He joined the bachelor herd, hanging around and play fighting with the other stallions, even helping them raid other herds for mares, though he never got any. Now he is six, and currently looking for a mare.:

:.Unlike her mother who had a horrible temper, Sasha is kind and sweet. She is a loyal and caring mare, trying to make those around her happy. She is usually friendly though can also be a bit shy and skittish, wary around New horses, and she is obedient and usually does whatever she is told..:

:.Sasha was born in the wild and lived there for two years. However, once she turned two she left her band in search for a different herd. On that day the BLM was conducting a round up, and they captured many of the wild horses on the range, including Sasha. They were rounded up and depending on their age, were sent to different holding facilities. Sasha was branded and put in a short term holding facility as she was to be adopted, though something happened. Horse thrives came, they would steal horses from different places and sold them, usually to kill-buyers. They managed to grab Sasha along with a few other young horses, loading them up into a trailer. Sasha was the last to be put in, and they were having trouble with her. Unlike the others, Sasha rebelled. The usually obedient filly reared, whinnying and lashing out and making alot of noise. The horse theives were spotted, and they all got into their truck and drove off. Before Sasha was put back in her pen, she escaped back to the wild, liking it better there than in captivity..:
