Charlie sighed having no luck with the mare it was getting dark and she'd have to find her way home soon. Charlie decided to go back later for her, she mounted storm pulling him around she trotted the way she thought the stable was in.

"Does using a slingshot count?" I asked,I watched her hold the gun.

Lacey smiled. "Nope," she said as she stuck a pellet down the chamber. She stepped out of the truck and began walking into the woods. She looked into the trees, content with the noisy hum of nature buzzing all around them. She looked back toward the truck with a satisfied grin. "Come on, Jason!" she called to the boy excitedly

Jason
I followed her I wanted to learn how to do this"you'll have to show me how, I guess I feel kinda silly not knowing how to use on of them."

Lacey nodded, and handed the gun over to Jason. "It's already sighted in," she informed him. She postitioned each of his hands where they were supposed to be - one on the stock and the other behind the trigger. Once that was done, he gently lifted the gun to Jason's shoulder. "It's on safety," she told him. "That means that until you take it off of safety, you can't shoot." Lacey pointed to the little safety button. "Now if you'll look in that scope, you'll see some cross hairs. Whatever's in the middle of those cross hairs is whatever your gun's gonna shoot." She took a step back, behind him. "Line your cross hairs up on whatever you wanna shoot and take it off of safety when you're ready. Squeeze the trigger, and don't be afraid - it isn't very loud."

Jason
I listened carefully as she explained what to do. I bought it up took aim, I left the safety on till I had my target, I found a stick that was sticking up of a branch I figured shot something that is not alive so it wouldn't suffer if I hit it and it was still alive, I turned the safety off and lined it up and *BANG*. I had no idea if I even hit it but it was the coolest thing EVER my hands were shaking with excitement. I put the safety on and looked "WHOA!" I said excitedly that's all I could say.

Lacey grinned happily. She remembered the first time she ever shot a gun, she was equally as excited as Jason. The forest went silent for a moment before bursting back into a synchronized hum once again. "I think guys with guns are hot," she said jokingly before taking the gun back. She quickly loaded another pellet back in, ready to shoot a pesky rodent. "Tell me if you see a squirrel," she said in a quiet voice.

Jason
He looked in the trees and on the ground he thought he saw movement in the bushes he lightly tap her shoulder and pointed to a squirrel on the tree. He didn't say anything he didn't want to scar it away.

Lacey followed Jason's line of vision to a bushy-tailed squirrel who was sitting as still as a statue on a tree branch. She quickly lifted her gun and shot at the squirrel before he even knew what was coming. The rodent dropped from the tree, dead, and Lacey high-fived Jason. She knew how hard it could be to shoot at a target so small, and she'd gotten a perfect shot through the heart. "Do you wanna shoot now?" she asked Jason as she turned to him.

Jason
He bit his lower lip, "Ok, sure!" I took the gun and loaded it I watched her do so I thought I try it. I looked around and before long I found a other one I lifted the gun and aimed for its head, *BANG* I lowered the gun and saw it hit the ground I grinned "I got'm" I said excitedly.

Lacey let out a laugh. She walked over to Jason's squirrel and lifted it off the ground. Sure enough, there was a bullet hole straight through its skull. "You sure did," Lacey confirmed as se held the rodent up. She retrieved hers as well and walked back to Jason. "Your first hunt," she told him, looking into his eyes. She didn't mean to, but every time she caught herself doing so, she just fell deeper and deeper into his gaze.
