I hear something I didn't sound like danger so I walked towards it then I stopped and whinnied.

I smile "they are wild there is her and her mate who I think is off somewhere else" I say

Wish
I shake of some flies then trot to a new stop to graze "ya she's very capable"

I smiled. "I understand. She's beautiful. Would you come closer please? I would very much like to see you up close. You're very beautiful. I promise not to hurt you."

Grace
I nodded and followed Wish. "Yea. She has been in tough situations before, but she's come through.

I look at her and walk just out of there reach. My brown and white paint coat shone in the sun.

Jay
I smile as the horse comes closer "Be careful ok Erica?"

Wish
"Like what?" I ask curios.

I smiled. "I will." I held my hand out. "You're very beautiful. I know you must not be used to human touch, but I would love to pet you. Will you let me?"

I looked away for a minute, then looked back. "One day, we were riding on a trail. Suddenly, a rattlesnake appeared and bit me. We were in the middle of nowhere and I was freaking out. She was able to get the snake away, calm me down, and get me help. If it wasn't for her, I would've died."

I sniffed her hand then touched it with my snout I felt safe but I still was careful. I thought for a moment then let her pet me.

I looked a little shocked but stood back and watched her with the horse.

"Really? Jay did something like that for me once but that is a long story" I whinnied gently.

I smiled and petted her. "You're a good girl. See. Doesn't this feel nice. What's your name?"

I nodded. "Yea. She's very good in bad situations. Sometimes, I feel like she can understand what we say. I think she can every once in a while."

I smiled and was a bit surprised myself that I understood what she said. I rarely heard what the horses actually said, but it was happening more often. "Hello, May. It's nice to meet you. I believe Jay, the guy I'm with, said you have a mate. Where is he?"

Grace
I whinnied in agreement. "Me too. I think she's learning how to understand what we say. I'm not sure how, though.

I turned and looked back up the hill with slightly sad eyes "he's hurt" I whinny then turned and trotted up the hill back to where she was standing before.

"You know her name?" he asked amazed.

May came back over and I looked up at her I couldn't get up but I could still see and hear.
