After a while he calmed down, his breathing went back to normal and his heartbeat slowed down. He took a deep breath then pulled away, wiping his eyes. He was very embarrassed and didn't look at Emilee. He just glanced at the ground and said, "Sorry bout that."

Athena ate slowly while laying down. She savored every bite of hay and grain she took in. Athena watched as Emilee ran off in a fast motion. She could tell something was wrong. Athena stood up, feeling the pain in her legs. Watching as she ran to a boy, the boy looked stressed. She nickered softly to them. Then reaching down for another bite of hay, then looking up again with hay hanging from her mouth like noodles.

Fay had heard crying and had gone to investigate. Since Emily was there she didn't do anything. She looked around wondering if she could find the couple who had payed attention to her and thank them.

I smile softly and hug him again. "Quit that already, Cody. Stop doing that. Stop pretending, Cody," I smile at him and lift his chin so he's looking at me. Then, I hug him. I wrap my arms around me and refuse to let go, even if he were to pull away again. I know I have to get back to the mare, but I can spend a little more time with Cody first.

He smiled and wrapped his arms around her, happily embracing the hug. He looked over and saw Fay as she was leaving, but shrugged the thought away. She probably just didnt want to intrude that's all. Pulling away a little Cody was face to face with her again. "Thank you," he said softy, deciding to let her make the choice if they wanted to kiss or not.

I smile softly and let my lips touch his cheek softly. "I have to go back to the barn. I brought another mare in today. I call her Athena. She has a foal coming soon, I can tell. But, I am going to swing by your cabin later to check in on you. By the way, do you know if Fay has the kitten and puppy or where those tiny rascals might be?" I smile brightly before looking around and seeing the mare with her head out of the stall door. I smile again and stand to head over there. I don't really want to leave Cody, but I have to tend to the mare.

Malykai was watching Emilee and Cody curiously, wondering what was going on, why Cody was upset.

Athena all the sudden felt a contraction, she stretched her neck down and let out a cry. She knew the foal was coming now. She started panicking, pacing back and fourth in the stall, not willing to let anyone in the stall. She was going to protect this baby.

I back up as the mare lunges at me wildly. I wait until she kind of gives up or at least is caught. The flies have already re-landed on her and I creep close again, this time I touch her neck, which is damp with sweat.

I race back to the barn and find Athena pacing. I stand outside the stall, about to go in, but not wanting to frighten the mare or get myself hurt. I stand there and put my hands on the door, ready to go in at the slightest sign of her having trouble.
