Doe was faltering, and he knew now he had the upper hand... or hoof in this case. The large stallion smirked down at her, satisfied as she struggled to come up with more retorts to their argument. Even when in danger of losing, he found the sassy mare exhilerating. " A lovestruck yearling would lose a mare within his first day to another stallion. And then what? While his mare is being protected and cared for by some other stallion, he sits around wallowing in self pity, plotting revenge. Heck, he'd get himself killed trying to keep a mare. At least I'd be able to guard and protect the two of you. " Gator snapped his mouth shut now. It had been clear he wanted Moon to stay, but he'd made it obvious he'd kind of, well, fallen for Doe in this time. What could he say? A fiery Appaloosa x Arabian mare who was just as quick-witted and smart mouthed as him? She was practically perfect for him, except for the fact their arguments seemed to go nowhere. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the younger, silent mare attempting to creep away, and he snorted, before stepping in front of her. " Don't bother. If you try to escape on an injured leg, a predator is bound to find you and take you down. Going off alone with such an injury is very risky, you know. " His voice had softened now, as it was blatantly obvious he had a soft spot for Moon. She was sweet and quiet, unlike the spitfire she'd befriended.

Honestly, why. Why her? The mare was fully accepting a stallion as she came into her stage four heat, and the two she'd run into earlier, were both equally determined to have her. The very odd and out of place stallion Caribou, and the wild, fiery stallion Pride. But the Andalusian, afraid to get mixed up in this fight or get too close to dangerous hooves, began moving away. She knew the winner would eventually come after her, and that was fine, but she did not want to end up accidentally injured. The light dapple gray mare was soon out of range of their battle, but still clearly in sight of them both. Where she stood now, she began to graze.
