Cricket

Cricket had watched Grimm leave the dump, and had curled himself around Sine for a little while, but soon got restless. He did a run of the perimeter of the dump, and then returned to see Grimm giving a toy to his little 'brother'. He smiled at her generosity, but felt the edge of sadness in the air. Timidly, he followed her into the tube, where he stood in the entrance as she gnawed what seemed to be a beef bone. Then, shyly, he entered the tube and curled himself around her, comforting her like he had just months before, when his beloved collapsed in the snow. He whined at the sharp, painful memory of her, but refused to cry out loud.
"I know how it feels... I'm sorry..."Cricket whispered in Grimm's ear. At least they had something in common, apart from the love of little Sine.
"When you want to, I know a good place for sausages! If you want to go, that is..."

Grimm-

She'd been gnawing on her bone when Cricket entered the tube. The mastiff was about to ask if he needed something when he laid down and curled himself around her. Instant comfort filled Grimm. Many a night she and her brothers curled up this way, each doing their own thing, but taking comfort in the nearness of each other.

And the Old Woman...gods, how she would miss her.

When Cricket spoke, she nodded, dropping her gaze to the bone, but seeing memories instead. "The Old Woman found us when we were day old pups. Someone had dumped us and left us for dead. One tiny, elderly human was the savior to three huge dogs. We guarded her with our lives."

She flicked an ear absently. "I miss my brothers. I doubt that I'll ever see them again, but I hope that they're okay." Turning to Cricket, she nuzzled the top of his head in thanks. She could sense the sorrow in him as well. They'd both loved and lost.

...and then he mentioned sausages and it aaaaall went away.

Sine

He finished thrashing around the little toy and then dropped it for a moment to look up and watch Cricket go over to Grimm. He felt the gloom seep to him for she looked quite sad, and he was hoping he would have cheered her up but apparently it didnt work. He watched for a long while and finally he smiled as she seemed to be put in a better mood. He then picked up the toy and trotted over to the two.
He set the toy down in front of Grimm and licked her nose with a bit of complications getting to it. He had never really had sausage, but he knew what it was. He sat down his tail thumping on the tube they were in as he thought. He had never really known the love of a human and the thought of it seemed foreign to him. He thought hard about this until he made an odd face, scrunching his nose.
He opened his jaws wide and let out a loud sneeze, falling over onto the floor, his ear flopping up and sticking there. He pawed at it then as he lie there, trying to fix his ear, now unamused.

Kʟᴀᴜs swiveled his ears as the sounds of the forest filled his ears, the brute looked up and noticed that he did not know were he was going. Growling, the large pup made his way deeper into the forest intent on getting away from the human and finding a place to stay. He came upon a path and lowered his head to the ground. Nostrils flared as he took in the many scents of all the animals and humans who had passed through here. The mastiff sniffed the ground again, finally stopping he seemed satisfied with the information that was there. He made his way towards a big hollow log, he had just seen it and wanted to rest. He may seem like he was tough and needed no one but himself, the truth is that he is still a pup and is very much alone. "Stupid human." He muttered as he settled on his belly gingerly, trying to fit into the log the best he could.
I AM QUITTING, I'M TOO BUSY TO CONTINUE.

Jake shook his head as a no, "Much worse." He said, his voice growing dimmer. "They... get rid of you." He mumbled, "But not to the streets. They make you disappear from this world." He said softly, "If you know what I mean." He said, looking to her. Without wanting to, he remembered how some dogs disappeared. He had felt ashamed that he couldn't have done anything about it. There was this one dog, thinner than ever, who had been at the pound and overdone his stay. He couldn't escape, the cage bars were too tough to chew through, and the humans were hard to fool. The dog was slim, a greyhound, who shivered when he was taken out of the room. Jake didn't know where he was going at the time, but when he never returned, the pup could only wonder... He hoped that he had been adopted, but there was this other dog who had been taken to the same place, out of the room and into a small quiet one. Apparently there was some sort of mistake, and it wasn't her time to go. The dog had returned and told about the story. She said that the greyhound's scent trail ended on a silver table where the humans put the dogs when they were to be put down.
The fate of the greyhound was the same as many other animals. Everyday dogs would come and go, some picked up off the streets, and other lead out to that same silver table. The smell in the pound was an awful stench, sadness. The dogs mourned for every fellow canine that never returned, and congratulated those who were picked to go to a new home. And though Jake had been there to witness all this, he didn't quite understand everything. Were those dogs gone forever? They had to be somewhere, right? Humans wouldn't do something that bad, would they?

Kito - Female - 2 years - Single

Kito glanced to Cricket when he set off to deal with the meat, then looked back to Koda and grinned, her tail wagged roughly, back and forth. "Okay..." She said, eyeing him playfully. She faced the direction of the river and crouched, "Ready?" She barked, the energy building up inside her as he readied herself. "Go!" She bursted out from her spot, dashing forward. Her paws hit the ground hard as she pushed herself to go faster and faster, forcing her legs to move more rapidly. Though she was near the very maximum speed she could go, she didn't feel like she was going to get there before him, but it sure was fun! Her tail was held out behind her for balance, and she lay her ears back so that they wouldn't flap around as she ran. Her eyes shined as the wind brushed through her fur, the air between her toes tickling her. It felt so good to run. Kito wasn't a bulky breed, and her body built was naturally slim, which helped her with some things like running, but became a burden with other things. All the female could think how great this was, racing with Koda, it felt like she was so free! Sure, in the junkyard she really had no boundaries. She could go out if she pleased, search around the city and all, plus no one was chasing her like humans that caught dogs to haul them off to animal jail, because it was safe in the junkyard. But with the wind passing by her, she felt like she was almost flying. It was an amazing feeling, her mind was clear, and she panted hard. She could only hear the sound of her paws hitting the ground and her heart thumping, everything else was blotted out.

Tiger - ☯Male - ☯3 and 3 Months - ☯Crush on Roxie
The male padded just outside the fence of the junkyard, taking in all the scents of the dogs inside. He stopped to shake out his fur, the last strands of orange and black fur from his feline companion Dog floated and settled softly on the ground as Tiger moved forward, each paw taking a step after one another. His white coat showed strikingly against the fresh green grass that poked through the fence, and soon after he found a hole, the only way in, and the only way out. He leaned close, ducking his head to sniff. There were so many scents around the hole, he could smell every dog's coat that rubbed the wire to slip under and enter the junkyard. The most recent one, a female, from what he could tell. He walked on, in deep thought about whether or not to join. Later the same scent reached his nostrils and his eyes glinted in the sunlight as he turned his head, seeing a tunnel with the dog he scented, another one curled around her, and a little pup. He watched for a moment, not bothering to hide his scent. He was curious, and didn't think that these dogs wouldn't harm him. He hadn't heard fights and snarls break out, so he had hoped it was a fairly balanced pack. His perked ears relaxed and he walked on, turning away from them and moving behind this large box that blocked his view from looking in.
Later he had almost circled halfway the border, then sat down. He gazed into the territory, half of him craving to join the group, and the other pack wanting to go off searching for his farm. He looked to the ground, thinking hard. He had a decision to make, would he ever find his farm? It couldn't be too far off, but if he went in the wrong direction he could get in another mess all over again.

Grimm-

Again the big female laughed at the pup. His actions alone were enough to take her mind off of today's events. The affectionate lick to her nose made her thump her tail happily against the concrete tube. More laughter ensued when his ear flipped up. Scooping him up with one large paw, she brought him to her and licked his ear into place. The same used to happen to her before she grew into her ears. It used to drive her crazy.
"Are you hungry, Sine? Cricket mentioned something about sausage and my stomach is already growling." True to her statement, her belly let out a loud rumble. It took a lot to keep a dog her size fit and fed. She would either have to learn to hunt or resort to digging in the trash, which didn't sound very appealing. Although I suppose when you're starving, anything sounds appealing.
As she spoke with the two dogs, she felt a kinship with them. Apparently some dogs grew on you faster than others. She knew that she would protect them should the need arise, especially little Sine. Grimm found it odd that, although she'd never thought of herself as the mothering type, she felt a great urge to keep the pup safe.
Suddenly, the fence rustled from a ways off. Her ears perked, honing in on the sound. Then a scent followed. Another dog, it seemed. Newcomer or resident, she was unsure as she had yet to meet everyone that called this place home. She'd make it a point to do that in time, but for now... her belly demanded sustenance.

Tiger - ☯Male - ☯3 and 3 Months - ☯Crush on Roxie
Tiger made his decision, he wouldn't join the pack, at least for now. He'd keep on his toes and try to know a little more about the pack before he could attempt to ask the Leader if he could be accepted as one of them. He got up and moved to a grand oak tree, away from the harm of the city. He leaned his back against it as he sat, then slid his front paws forward to lie down. After some quiet minutes slipped through, he rested his head on his paws and gently closed his eyes. Though they were closed, his devil-horn-like ears kept perked and alert, but eventually relaxed loosely on his big white head. Any threatening sounds and he would snap up, but all there was, was the common breezes and rustling leaves, dogs roaming around, trash falling, and the people of the city chatting and riding in the cars which engines roared down the road. Tiger fell into a light snooze as the warmth of the sun hugged him from all over.

Cricket

Cricket jumped up, and called for them to follow him. Then, he ran at full speed down the hill and wriggled underneath the gap between the fence and the dirty floor. From there, Cricket ran, tongue flopping to one side and ears whipped back by the wind. Through the streets he ran, until he got to Bambinos - the little Italian restaurant. Cricket trotted through the back alley until he faced the sun bleached wall - the back of Bambinos. He scratched the door three times - his own secret code - and then yipped at the back door for attention. The large Italian chef appeared at the half door.
"Ah, why, it's the little tramp! Why are you here? I gave you the scraps this morning, no?" Cricket lay down on his front, head on his paws, giving the Italian the cutest face.
"Oh, well I'm sorry my little wanderer, but I have nothing. Nothing I say!" Cricket sat up, and pawed the air. The signal. He turned to the side, hoping to see Grimm and Sine sit with him and beg too. After all, sausages were at stake!

Sine

He laughed and giggled as Grimm fixed his ear. filling with joy and comfort. He then watched as Cricket ran off to go get food and he looked at Grimm "Come on!" He smiled happily his tail swinging side to side as he stood up quickly and bolted off after his brother to find food. He slipped under the fence with ease and followed Cricket.

The city people all stared at him as he ran and this quite bothered him, so he kept his head forward to watch his brother so he wouldnt get lost. Food smells filled his nose and it just made him more happy and when he rounded the corner Sine saw a man speaking with Cricket, a human. He trotted over to the door next to Cricket and rubbed his face against his brother, climbing onto his back and falling off, rolling onto his back and looking up at the human man. He felt safe with his brother and he man smelt of sausages, a warm comforting smell.

The pup looked up at the man then and pawed at the air aimlessly, his ears both flipping up and getting stuck now and he yet again got aggrivated with them and pawed at his ears to fix them but it did not work. In the end he stood up and pressed the side of his face on the ground, taking a step forward only to fall and tumble into Cricket, both of his ears flopping into place again

He then looked to the man and figured they should act like beggars which was easy for him to do. A small whine escaped his teeth as he looked up at the man with big sad blue eyes. He then lie down and rested his head on his paws looking up at the man sadly, his tail no longer wagging but curling around him. He truly looked sad, and when he did this he longed to see his brothers and siblings again but he knew he never would. He would often cry at night but his new friends did not need to know.

Cricket

Cricket smiled when he saw Sine bound up to him. He didn't know where Grimm was, but they would share the food even if she hadn't helped with it - they were family now! Cricket pawed the air once more, and whined. Then bounded up to the Italian and placed his paws on the human's shoulders so they could see eye to eye. His height came from his mother and father - his father a Timber Wolf, his mother the gentlest of German Shepherds. Or so he had heard - she had died shortly after he was born. The pair stared into each other's eyes for a brief moment, before the Italian sighed.
"Fine, wanderer and his little friend. I give in, you hear!" Cricket licked the chef's cheek before falling back on all fours.
"I'll be back, tramp. Just wait a minute." And with that, the chef disappeared into the kitchen. Cricket wandered triumphantly back to little Sine.
"Whatta think? I have humans eating from my paw! Ha ha!" Cricket turned his head back to the door, where the chef appeared, with a mountain of sausages and scraps!
"Here, little one and your friend. Sausages fresh from the oven, and some meat scraps from today. Do you want a bag? He he he! I'll get you one, little ones!" Cricket yipped in happiness, before turning to Sine.
"Don't start. I know you want to sink your teeth into the tenderest of meat, cooked by my good friend here, but don't! We need to save it!" The chef returned, putting the sausages and the scraps into a bag.
"You'll want the sausages when they are hot, so I suggest that you eat them as soon as you return to where you came from. Chow, my little friends!" And then he turned back into the kitchen. Cricket snapped up the plastic handles in his jaws, and trotted off.
"Tramp?" The chef called. Cricket turned back to see the cheery, red faced man poking his head out of a window.
"Bring your friends with you again sometime!" Cricket yipped, and trotted off down the dark alleys, Sine by his side...
