Trinity was actually shocked at Barrett's response. She slowly turned around to face him, looking him up and down in disbelief. None of the other puppies had ever called her beautiful. Only her parents, Lavender and Don, had ever said that she was pretty. And it hurt her in that place deep down, the aching part of her soul that longed for love and attention, to be recognised, to be acknowledged by others. She wanted to be respected, but so far, she had only been pushed away by everyone else. She hadn't shown her hurt over this, but it was there. A deep black void of pain that increased with intensity every time somebody avoided her or yelled at her - Rose especially. If anything, she was jealous of her big sister. Rose was pretty. Rose was talented. Rose had always been he favourite. Rose was respected and welcomed by everyone. Her eyes met Barrett's again as she sat down, unsure of what exactly she was going to say, but she was going to say something. She took a deep breath as if to calm herself, and a shy smile appeared on her white muzzle. "B-But you are good at something, Barrett. You're one of the bravest puppies I know! How could you think you're not good at anything? You're gonna be a fighter, and you're gonna be a good one. But me? Nothing. Maverick didn't even ask if I wanted to go with him. He left me here. As if i'm just...Worthless. As if i'll never be anything. The only thing i'll ever be is the pack drama queen or the pack flirt." She lowered her head with a dejected sigh, shifting her paws. "I just wanna be noticed...And the only dogs who have even considered my feelings are Mummy, Daddy, and you...But Daddy's gone. And he's never coming back...Ever." This statement sounded more painful to say than anything else, and she slowly stood up again, taking a few steps back to take up the offer of the walk in the barn. "...I don't know what to do...."
