Horses are generally characterized as beautiful, graceful creatures, but most people aren't
aware of the darker brutality and raw power that wild horses are capable of. Wild horses come from
many different origins. Some are descendants of real Spanish mustangs or feral horses whose owners
have forgotten them, while others are simply horses and ponies that have jumped pasture fences or
escaped abusive owners. What ties them together, is the fact that they are driven by instinct. The
instinct to create a new generation, or be the strongest Stallion, or the most desirable Mare. Their
Bone-deep need to survive is what drives the underlying violence that is necessary to ensure order
and peace as well as to ultimately allow the horses to endure. Each horse has to pick their own path.

Though, sadly, not every horse's path will lead to what they desire. What will yours lead too?

Obviously, all of Tess's rules apply here.
This is a semi-literate role play. That means that I expect a minimum of three sentences per post
for each character. I also expect to see at least a decent attempt at proper spelling and grammar. In
addition to that, I would also like to see aesthetically pleasing posts. Meaning pretty posts. They don't
need to be amazing or anything, something simple is fine as well. Just please don't make ugly posts.

Keep things family friendly, please? When mating or birthing, put "fades to black" or something to
that extent. Also, no cussing.

Drama and fighting in character is allowed and encouraged, but under no means will I allow fight-
ing in OOC. At the very least, take your arguments to PM instead of cluttering the RP with it.

This is a semi-realistic role play, so please, keep things somewhat realistic. remember that pure
white and black horses are rare, stallions fight, and mares are considerably weaker than males,
etc. If a see a problem with your realism, I will let you know either through PM or OOC here.

When the RPer of a stallion is offline, you may not snake any of that stallion's mares. I don't care
if your character talks with the stallion's mare(s) or what not, but no forcefully snaking them
away from their herd when their stallion isn't able to protect his claim on them.

You can have as many characters as you're able to keep up with. Please keep in mind having to poss-
ibly RP the offspring of your character's. You don't want to end up with 10 horses to RP. Also, there is
no need to keep gender's even in this RP. As a matter of fact, I'd prefer it if there was at least a
2 to 1 female to male ratio, to keep things realistic.

Remember to have fun!

Each season lasts 5 real life days.

Spring Day 2/5
Spring is the most active season. The snow has melted and the grass and trees are coming back to life. In addition, Spring is breeding season. Every Stallion's blood is pumping hard and mares are giving birth and beginning to go into heat. A mare's heat lasts seven days, and they can go into heat a few days after giving birth or after losing a newborn foal.

Summer Day 0/5
In Summer, food is plentiful and the weather is temperate with warm temperatures. Foals will be getting bigger and learning valuable skills, and stallions will be protecting their herds. It is possible for mares to sometimes go into heat in early summer, especially if they'd lost lost a foal in late spring. Very rarely is a foal born this late in the year, though.

Fall Day 0/5
Fall is when things start to get slower. Leaves are falling and the temperatures are beginning to drop. Horses will be starting to get shaggy as their winter coats grow. Predators like wolves or mountain lions are more abundant during this time of the year. By late fall, it's best for horses to move down into the valley, as it offers the best protection during winter.

Winter Day 0/5
Snow will have begun to fall regularly, and the temperatures are falling harshly. Horses will usually head for the valley during winter, as it's mountainous walls offer protection from the freezing winter winds. Predators will become more desperate when hunting. Mares may start giving birth during late winter, though it's more likely for them to pop come early spring.

The territory is wide and diverse, with a lot of beautiful geographical features. The main territory is where the horses spend the majority of the year. This place is called the Michezo Plains. The Michezo Plain is a large expanse of land covered in long prairie grass. It's flat for the most part, though as the plain nears the Valley, the land becomes a bit more hilly, and homes small clusters of trees and forest. In the middle of the Plains, there is a large watering hole where the horses drink and bathe and play. It swells during the spring, as the melting snow feeds the pond, and it will usually dry up a bit during the summer. Sometimes, when summers have hotter than normal temperatures, the watering hole may dry up completely. In that case, the horses may be forced to travel up towards the valley, where the shade from Psych's Plateau usually keeps the valley pond and creek from drying up completely. Near the mouth of the valley, there is a sparse forest with a large glade at its center. Within the Glade, there is a decent sized pond that is fed by a river running down from the valley. The Glade is a beautiful place, but most horses tend to pass through it quickly, and rarely stay there overnight, as the trees allow large predators ample cover. If you follow the river, it leads to the Valley. The beginning of the valley is very rocky and hilly, and can be dangerous if one is not cautious enough where they step. The risk, though, is worth it, as the large hills protect young foals from cold winter winds and can often mean the difference between freezing to death or making it to another spring. Mid winter, predators tend to get desperate due to the lack of food, and will occasionally follow the herds into the valley. The predators with mouths to feed will often become daring or foolhardy because they are desperate to feed their cubs/pups, and will be more likely to try and snatch a wandering foal or attack a yearling. If you move farther up the valley, the hills begin to turn into much larger landforms, and the valley pass becomes much narrower. When you reach a small, shallow creek, you will be at the base of Psych's Plateau. Psych's Plateau is at the top of one of the right valley wall. It's a flat expanse of rock that offers a view of the entire territory. From the top of it, you can see everything from the farthest part of Michezo Plains, to the Glade, and the valley below. It's hardly ever traversed, as the path that leads up to it from the valley creek is well hidden and treacherous.

Name:
    "My name is Adelaide."
Nickname:
    "I don't have a nickname, and I don't want one. I like my name."
Age
"I'm still very young. Only about 2 years old."
Gender
"Honestly? It was necessary of you to ask that? I'm obviously a mare."
Foals
"I don't have any foals, though I'm sure that will change soon."
Parents
"My mother was a mare named Azaylee. She was something called a Gypsy Vanner.
I get my feathery fetlocks and long mane from her. My father was a paint mustang
named Krag. All I got from him were the splashes of chestnut in my fur."
Personality
    w.i.p
History
I was born to a gypsy vanner mare named Azaylee, whom had escaped captivity,
and a mustang stallion dubbed Krag. My mother was sweet as could be, with a
gentle demeanor. My father, however, was quite brutish and unpleasant to be
with. Nonetheless, I was well off during my first year. I lived within a decent
sized band and was well protected. During my first summer as a yearling, a
small group of bachelors began to harass my father's herd. Krag had decided
that he would not have any other stallions near his mares, and so he began to
try and fend off the younger males. Unfortunately for my father, the bachelors
persisted, always coming back to try and get a chance at snaking away a mare.
Krag was having none of it, and so he began to fight with one of the younger
bachelors. Soon, the others of the bachelor group joined in, and Krag was badly
out numbered. Despite having experience and size on his side, the bachelors
managed to beat my father, leaving him bloody and badly injured. Once Krag
was out of the way, the bachelors began to separate the mares out, so that
each of the males got to keep a prize. My mother went with the oldest of the
bachelors, and as I was not old enough to go into heat yet, I was sent off with
the least experienced male. I tried to fight back, to rejoin my mother, but my
new stallion put me in my place rather forcefully, and finally I went with him
with little protest, as there was nothing I could do. My new stallion, named
Dublin, wasn't too bad. He had a temper and was a bit impatient, but it wasn't
anything different from Krag. Anyways, life went on. I missed my mother, but
I managed to get over it after a few months. Come mid-winter, Dublin and I
were just making our way through the Glade, as his inexperience had lead
him to begin the journey to the valley much too late. Dublin was not good at
making decisions. He didn't think things through, and it irritated me to no
end. Unfortunately, any time I would try to reason with him or speak my mind,
all I would end up with was a kick to the side. Dublin insisted on us staying in
the Glade over night, before continuing to the valley, and by now I knew better
than to argue. So, we slept, Dublin not even bothering to keep watch at all.
Later in the night we were both awoken by rustling nearby. Dublin wrote it off
as a raccoon searching for food, but I was scared. I moved away from the tree
line, watching as Dublin laid down and tried to go back to sleep. Not so sadly,
the rustling turned out to be a mountain lion instead of a raccoon. The beast
wasted no time leaping from the trees and onto Dublin, whom hadn't had
enough reaction time to heave himself to his feet. Instead, he was caught
laying down and the puma dug its claws into his flanks and began to try and
make a grab at his throat. I was terrified. I couldn't move, only watch as the
Mountain lion began to over take Dublin. After a few minutes of watching the
struggle, I managed to snap out of my frightened stupor. I took off, following
the path of the river up to the rocky valley pass. I didn't look back, only kept
running. By dawn, I was far down the valley, near the base of Psych's Plateau,
and trying to catch my breath. Days passed, and Dublin never came up into
the Valley looking for me. Soon, signs of Spring were beginning to make
themselves known, and the other horses were trickling out of the valley, back
down to the Glade and Plains. I waited a bit longer. Not because I wanted to
be with Dublin again, but because I was terrified of going down into the Glade.
Finally, it came to the point where I could not stay in the Valley any longer,
and I managed to make my way back down to the Glade, sprinting at a full
gallop the entire time, before breaking out of the forest and onto the plains.
Now I'm a lone mare for the first time."
Physical Description
Adelaide is a very pretty mare with a feathery coat that is mostly white, with
the occasional bright patch of sorrel. She has a slight build, for being part Gypsy
Vanner and part Mustang, with long legs. Her mane and tail are wavy and very
long, and she has feathered fetlocks starting at her knees and going down to the
ground. She stands 14.3 hh tall, and weighs about 1,200 pounds.

Name:
"I have had many names in the past, but the one I prefer to go by is Spirit."
Nickname:
"Spirit is short enough, isn't it?"
Age
"I am three and a bit years old."
Gender
"Well, I thought it's obvious, but I'm a stallion, and proud."
Foals
"None yet, but I hope to sire a few in my lifetime."
Parents
"My parents were both purebred Hanoverian's, so I guess that makes me one to? And before you ask, they were unnamed."
Personality
"Some say I am wild, untrainable, that my personality gets in the way of my talent and so many other offensive things! From that I guess you could gather I'm fiery and strong-willed?"

Spirit is a very wild and defiant young stallion. He is extremely strong-willed, and won't listen to reason, simply his own intentions. He is one of those horses that whatever you do annoys them, they will only do what you want them to do when they feel like it and is very....frustrating. But that's not all! His ego is bigger than the whole universe. He thinks he's the best, most amazing, god-created being in the world! This usually gets him into trouble, most likely with other males, as he is only young. So, I'd say the best way to sum this horse up is defiant, up-himself and ignorant.
History
"My history is pretty boring....just warning you!"

Spirit was born at a very rich, private stud in Germany, from some very beautiful horses! They were both very talented, friendly and happy to be around people. But then, when Spirit was born, nobody could figure out where this... stubborn foal came from! He was obviously going to be a stunner, if only he could be trained. His master tried entering him in a few competitions, just to see if he would perform well in competitions. Well, at first he did, but then he'd get bored and start showing off, making people dislike him a lot! But then, one fine night, the gate was accidentally left open, and he escaped, when he was 2 years old! And well, he's still living wild, 'living life to the full'
Physical Description
Spirit is a rather large stallion for his breed (Hanoverian), standing at 17.2hh and weighing approximately 590kg. He has a very athletic body and long legs. His mane and tail are straight and normal length, and he is extremely elegant. His back is extremely strong, a characteristic of the Hanoverians.

{{Will do do another one for a mare when I get time!}}

Name:
"My full name is Everglade, given to me by my master."
Nickname:
"Most other creatures, horses and people alike, usually call me Glade."
Age
"I am three years old. Nothing much else to say...."
Gender
    "I am a mare, a female horse."
Foals
"Oh how I wish I had a little mini me!"
Parents
"I am very unsure of my parents, I was taken away from them and forced to live with another mare who had recently lost her own foal and was bordering mental, and according to master she was one of his best horses, so apparently I helped heal her...I found it very strange!"
Personality
    "Uh oh...."

Glade is a fairly shy, reserved mare. It is thought because she was taken away from her natural mother, and had no choice but to be raised by a different mare. She keeps to herself mostly, and will only confide in horses she really trusts. Eventhough she is shy as a butterfly, or a bird, she longs to have many foals in her lifetime, and be a part of a herd, but mostly feel like she belongs somewhere. Glade is very gentle, and would never hurt a fly. She can be a bit jumpy and uneasy around horses she doesn't know, but she slowly relaxes as she gets to know them.
History
"Nothing much, just I was raised in the Netherlands, a fire burned down the stable and I was the only horse to escape. I will never forget the sound of screaming horses, flames burning everything in the stable, and most of all, my second mother be ridden away by my master, who just left us all on our own. I could safely say that experience has scarred me for life."
Physical Description
Glade is a half Friesian, half arabian, standing at around 16hh and weighing approximately 550kg? She is extremely elegant and agile, coming from both the friesian and arabian, has feathers on her lower legs, and a long, flowy beautiful mane and tail, definitely from the friesian side! Her muscles are well-developed and she is very attractive to look at. She also has a white diamond on her fore-head, which is usually concealed by her thick mane.

{{ Glad to hear you'll be joining! :D I can't reserve positions. Sorry. >_< The Lead Stallion spaces go to stallions with a band. (Which basically means he has at least one mare in his herd.) But don't worry, there's no limit or anything on how many stallions can have a band. I'll make more spaces if necessary. ^_^ And the Lead Stallion of each band picks their own Lead Mare. }}
